They said spring. It would be a shame if it just sits there empty for nearly a year.

It recently sat empty for close to a year after Jagged Little Pill suddenly closed, and before A Beautiful Noise began previews.

Oh look, a bibu!

How come a Broadway theater would sit empty for a year? I thought there were a lot of shows that wanted to be on Broadway? (Also, on a side note, what is going to go into the Majestic Theater? It’s been empty now almost for a year since Phantom left?)

Was "Smash" really trying to fast track it Broadway this year? With this show not closing until 6/30, I'd imagine a new show would snag it for Sept/Oct start time - the other busiest time for Broadway openings.

SMASH isn't coming until Spring 2025.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Correct (which is more than can be said for your intel on when ABN was closing -- made only yesterday)!

I can't imagine it staying quiet until the spring, this one is known for it's fall/winter limited runs, starry plays galore

The Broadhurst would make sense for OUR TOWN (large-ish cast and probably has a star with a hefty salary)...that would be a limited run, and then will still be available for SMASH or BOOP or whatever in the spring.

April 14 is still a tentative early closing for ABN if ticket sales don't pick up after today's announcement.

It seems that’s the rumor going around.

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince
