Patti LuPone because she is the one who got me into broadway in the 1st place. That Evita recording still sends chills down my spine after all these years.

And I really need to listen to more of the stuff Sutton's in, because I LOVE her voice..a LOT, but I just really dont know anything she's been in :) haha. I'm bad, I really do not have a very widespread knowledge of shows. I have a bad habit of getting obsessed with one or two and then kinda.. forgetting about all the other ones out there. haha
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
Barbra Streisand - Funny Girl Patti LuPone - Evita Brent Carver - Kiss of the Spider Woman & Parade
"I believe that art does not exist only to entertain, but also to challenge one to think, to provoke, even to disturb, to engage in a constant search for the truth."
- Barbra Streisand
Audra McDonald in EVERYTHING she does. (Especially Marie Christine) I have yet to see her live though. But there must be a reason she has 4 Tonys...
What I've seen...
Sutton Foster in Millie - It's fluff, but she gave her whole BEING to the role. Very rare.
Tonya Pinkins in Caroline, or Change - Left me speechless. What a role, what a woman. What a horrible place to be in 8 times a week. Incredible, nodes and all.
Victoria Clark in Piazza. Truly one of the most beautifully specific, heartbreaking, funny, tragic, portrayals I have ever witnessed anywhere. Only to be topped by... Victoria Clark in Live from Lincoln Center's taping of Piazza. I don't know how, but it was even better than I remembered it.
I envy people like JohnBoy and Bennet... I only pray I get to see 1/4 of the amazing divaness that your eyes have had the priveledge to themselves on.
bwayboi4life, did you see Barbra Streisand in FUNNY GIRL on Broadway, or are you going by the film? And, Patti LuPone was pretty spectacular in EVITA. She should be added to my list, as well. LostLeander, don't envy me, I'm old! Updated On: 6/27/06 at 12:03 PM
