She likes fun musicals, comedies, etc. Nothing too serious or thought provoking.

In the past she has enjoyed Wicked, Evita, Phantom, Les Mis, etc.

Legally Blonde, Spring Awakening, or In The Heights! If none of those YF solely for the cast and SFX.

Xanadu, Spamalot, Legally Blonde, Young Frankenstein would probably be good choices.

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

Gypsy is pure entertainment. She will know many of the songs. It is a delight from beginning to end. Xanadu is also bliss, pure fun confection and an amazing time.

XANADU, XANADU, XANADU

Best show of the year and the best reviewed comedy of the year. And most unique theater-going experience due to the intimate Helen Hayes.

This New Yorker review should give you an idea of the bliss you'll experience:

Curtains is a whole lot of fun. Spamalot is a musical of Monty Python -- how serious could it be? Young Frakenstein is a musical of a Mel Brooks movie. Those ought to be good.

I second Altar Boyz...it is a riot. I actually stayed away from the show because I wasn't crazy about the recording. I was dragged to see it and was so sorry I didn't see it before I did. I had a blast at the show!
