I'm going to miss Sarah Haines. I enjoyed it when she occasionally spoke of her gay brother. She's sharp, intelligent and extremely likable. I wish her all the best on her new endeavor. It's so nice to see these women succeed once they leave the show (Nicole Wallace being a perfect example). As for THE show of the season, I'm a little sorry Joy wasn't there though Ana certainly did her justice. As for Whoopi, I think just having to look at that constant offensive insincere ear to ear grin on Pirro's mug was enough to make anyone go ballistic. I'm sure that smile was gone once she got backstage. Of course Pirro, beaming that this fiasco has only helped her book sales (and is probably correct) also garnered some negative publicity along the way. Foolish not to realize there's only room for one Ann Coulter in this universe. But hopefully, as in Variety lingo ...LIARS, LEAKERS AND LIBERALS (?) will open big but have no legs.
I think Sara is a lovely and pleasant woman, but definitely doesn't bring the fireworks like the rest of the panel. I think the only contentious moment I've seen her in was Meghan yelling at her the other week, lol! Ana and/or Tara will be wonderful replacements. The constant changing of the panel is quite annoying, though. This would never have happened under Barbara.
I used to love when I visited, to attend a taping. The guests, for the most part, were at least B list and they gave away some amazing prizes (at least for the tapings I attended) for the audience. Over the years, the guests are not that great, the vibe during the taping is not fun and the prizes (mostly digital downloads) crappy. The last couple of tapings I attended, were boring and there is no in the audience interactions from the ladies, like in years past. Add crappy giveaways and I have become uninterested. As far as this Whoopi and Jeanine Peirro incident, I feel Whoopi and the rest are in the wrong. Granted I only watched a view seconds of the segment. Peirro has been a guest many times in the past. They knew what she was about. Since she was selling a book, she would be Peirro on steroids to push sales. They knew she was going to state opinions that the majority would not agree with. And again she was a guest. It was like when Whoopi and Joy stormed off the set with the opinions of Bill O Reilly. Maybe at that time Whoopi didn't have a say so with booked guests, because Barbara was still Grand Dame of The View. Barbara, if I remember correctly, was both embarrassed and angry when they walked off set.....because he was a guest. Now, Whoopi is Grand Dame and you can't tell me that she doesn't have 100% say so on booked guests. The realist/cynic in me really thinks this "fight" was for ratings, water cooler talks and book sales for Peirro.
I like Sarah, Ill miss her, but she contributes nothing. Life tip though: don't like tweets announcing you're leaving before your network even announces it.
I PRAY that it's not Ana or Tara to be honest.
With that being said, I attend tapings periodically and they always seem fun. And booking of guest? I feel like they're snagging big names both entertainers and politicians. Just me?
ucrdude902, Don't you have a friend that is a producer? If so, I would think, you don't have to get up early, stand in line outside for hours, then sit inside for over an hour and then receive a less than desirable seat. If so, your experiences at tapings is not comparable to the average person who attends. If I am incorrect, I apologize in advance.
Oh no, I don't disagree with that. I meant as someone who just enjoys the production of it all, they seem fun to me to experience. No disrespect intended.
Sarah's announcement. The show will likely take their summer hiatus starting on the week of Aug. 13(it's typically been for 4 weeks) and return on Sept. 10. A short time frame to find her replacement.

I've never understood the pettiness of reporters/articles when it comes to talking about The View changing co-hosts? Is that's the point? Evolving views, evolving hosts?
It doesn't sound like they plan to replace Paula. They could just keep Ana on standby and have her as the unofficial 6th host.

She also doesn't seem to fond of Ana Navavrro. I'm sure she's hoping someone else gets picked as the new cohosts.
Also, this week is the last week of the season. Sarah's farewell party is on Thursday. They usually take a four week hiatus and the next season should start on September 4.

They've all driven me crazy at times, but the one I will never miss is Paula. Her contrarian, arch devil's advocacy wore thin very early. She self-presents as Andrea Mitchell, this field-tested journalist with great 4th estate cred. She's a lightweight who tosses Foxian talking points to have a position, and often sounds out of her depth. She cannot sustain a developed argument -- the dialectic's need of developing a counter argument is beyond her -- and so she's just been a crank-out-the bite spox for any position other than the one stated by Joy or Whoopi. As angry as others make me, they do their job. Faris has been a cipher. I don't know how she lasted.

I like Abby and I think it's about time the table be closed balance if they're going to stick to being political 90% of the time. But you know what the see in Abby? Same thing they saw in Meghann, a direct line to DC.
Guarantee her Dad makes an appearance within her first 90 days.
Ally's a better choice than Ana. Ana can just be the unofficial "6th host" and fill in for Whoopi on Fridays and whenever some needs off or is sick.
