It was long, but mostly just good cheap fun. I need to do some in-depth writing on it, so I'm pondering the questions of the nature of identity raised in there, but if you just want to read it for amusement, it's the Victorian equivalent of a good Grisham or Clancy suspense thriller.
Well I need some advice on which book to read next.
It will either be the Outsiders, 1984 or My Friend Leonard. I can't decide which one.
oooh, I love 1984! One of my favorite books.
And Kitzarina, I took that London walk too!! Donald was the GREATEST guy ever. And I bought the book, lol. Very interesting read!

I read Mysterious Skin {Scott Heim} during midterms. Great story, though quite disturbing. And now I'm onto God Against the Gods {Jonathan Kitsch}. YAY for whoever's reading The Kite Runner!!!
Just Lucky I Guess, a memoir of sorts by Carol Channing.
That, and I'm finishing up Christine Jorgensen, A Person Biography.

The Traveller by John Twelve Hawks...
A great read for anyone who is interested in the mysteries, Astral Projection et al. Orwellian in substance but a great adventure all the same. On the cover it says The new Da Vinci Code, it's not nor should it claim to be but if i'm honest it's what caught my eye when i was scanning the shelves and prompted me to pick it up...
3001 Arthur C Clarke. Have loved all the books in the series.
Complete Poems - Elizabeth Bishop (FANTASTIC!)
I am about to start Leap of Faith, the autobiography of Queen Noor of Jordan.
About to start re-reading Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. Seeing the show made me want to read the play again (especially since I got my copy autographed by the whole cast ).
After that, I'll probably re-read The Visit and then Equus and Ghosts. It'll be like Senior English class all over again.
Too bad I don't own Ethan Frome or Burried Child. Then it really WOULD be Senior English all over again.
This is for a class, but I'm about to start Amos Oz's Tale of Love and Darkness. It's supposed to be beautiful (a memoir, I believe) but less so when translated into English (from Hebrew).
Has anybody read it?

I haven't. Speaking of the Hebrew language, I'm reading EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED by Jonathan Safran Foer. The English language has never been so ****ed up in such a beautiful way before.
I bought it after seeing the movie. Directed by Liev and starring Elijah Woods. Another perfect performance from a brotha'.
I should probably add that I'm reading the translation -- I can read Hebrew, but I don't understand it. So really, that's not of very much practical use.

Emcee same with me. I can read and write it I just don't know what I am reading or writing! I could be saying the dirtiest thing ever and not know it! To contribute I am reading Matilda by Roald Dahl (everyone probably knows that). I don't have a choice I am desperate for points for school (books have points and they aren't much and I need 40 and I have 23). It is due friday and somehow need to get more of these points. Considering Matilda is only 6 and I just finished an 11 point book we shall see how it turns out. Wish me luck! Oh and you have to take tests in order to get points for them.
Currently reading Lermontov's A Hero of Our Time... and Danielewski's House of Leaves on the side. The former for a class, the latter for fun.
I wish I were better at keeping track of multiple books at one time.
ikm, I still love Roald Dahl. :)

i recently finished kafka's the metamorphosis for class. it was one of the most gut-wrenching things i have ever read. i did most of it in one sitting and there were times when i just had to put the book down because i was crying too much to read it. i want to start the castle soon because i really liked kafka's style, but i'm not sure i can handle another story that hurts so much. does anyone know if it's as painful as the metamorphosis?
Has anyone read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbysky? My favorite.

that was a cute book. chobsky also wrote the unused script for an older version of the rent movie.
I'm reading Pull Me Up, a memoir by New York Times reporter Dan Barry.
I am reading a book I've read before- one of my favorite books EVER. Probably my bestest bestest favorite.
1916 by Morgan Llewlyn. It's about the Irish rebellion of April 25, 1916. Most. Amazing. Book. Ever.
