presale started this morning at 10am, public onsale this Friday at 10am. 14 performances only, but judging from how quickly these appear to be moving, i wouldn't be surprised at all if it's extended
I was looking at the Amex presale and found a couple of seats I liked then I saw they were $521.00 Each. There is another Amex sale on the 24th I'll see what else they release. Purchasing 10 months in advance is a little crazy.

If I've never actually seen Les Mis or listened to it all the way through, is this an insane way to do it?
I was born at the tail of the mega Euro-musical era and have never been nearly as interested in most of those shows as the Broadway landscapes that came before and after, but it is an awfully big hole in my knowledge!
You probably can find somewhere to watch the old concert version with one of the Jonas bros that gets repeated on PBS all the time during pledge season. Lots of ppl probably only know the show from that.
I'm a little shocked at those prices, especially without a cast announcement. Patti damn well better be there....

actually, DO NOT do this ----- that 25th Anniversary Concert is dreadful, and should never be anyone's first entry to this piece.
Instead, seek out either the 10th Anniversary concert, with Colm Wilkinson, Phillip Quast, Ruthie Henshall and a young Lea Salonga..... or my personal favorite, the 2019 Staged Concert video, with Alfie Boe and Michael Ball. The (very) minimal staging gives you just enough to follow the plot, the performances and orchestrations are STELLAR, and Alfie is the ultimate Jean Valjean here (at least IMO)
But...but...a Jonas brother
There's an archival video (maybe even a proshot) from Los Angeles in 1991 that went viral on theatre YouTube last week... I haven't watched it but it appears to be the original full Cameron Mackintosh staging.

I disagree that the 25th is awful. Theres some dodgy casting (Nick Jonas, Alfie Boe, Matt Lucas) but you also have Lea, Ramin, Norm, Sam who help make up for it. The scale of the venue gives it an epic feel.
But the 10th anniversary at the albert hall is definitely far superior with no weak links.
Id avoid the most recent 'staged concert' that was filmed in 2019. All four leads were really really poor. The supporting cast are good, but not outstanding (apart from Bradley Jaden).

You'll pardon me, but the credit for that staging belongs to John Caird and Trevor Nunn. Cam Mack is the cheap bitch who was tired of continuing royalty streams going anywhere other than his pocket.

Just got my ticket! Can't remember when I bought a ticket for something so far in advance. I do wish they could somehow bring back the revolve for this but I suppose we should accept we are not gonna see that staging again.

Debating whether or not to get tickets now. Im seeing barely any seats left when I look online is it that they are saving those seats for when tickets actually go on sale or did that many people really buy from the presale?

Thanks for the heads up on that! Great to see, even though when filming just with the stage lighting you really can't make out much of the set.

it's open for general sale now. It seems like there's more seats, though the mezz sections are more picked over. they have a queue in place but I didn't really have to wait
