Yikes diva- that wasn't a very nice message to send you (or anyone!)! Just because people have a difference of opinion doesn't mean you have to personally attack them. Anyway, I thought it was odd that Streisand's award could barely be seen under her clothes. She was the only one not proudly displaying her "necklace". I also thought the choice of entertainers was odd for her since she has been in the business for so long. I still enjoyed the show though- especially The Who's tribute!

fflagg is a bitter, dried out human, who has no respect for anything.

You can tell by some of her posts:

Re: Anderson Cooper: “Anderson is a boring coward. After seeing MILK, anyone who is in the closet should be ashamed of himself....”

Re: Jeremy Piven: “Maybe he injured his foot while fooling around with his male costar in the dressing room....”

Re: Sutton Foster: “Her 93 fans are drooling as we speak....”

“Patti LuPone is second-rate and always will be contrary to what nerdy Andrew Gans says ad nauseum about this 'multi-talented diva'. If she were giving the performance of a lifetime the show would not close early.”

Re: Grey Gardens: “And like FOLLIES will not be fully appreciated until later and also was robbed of its major Tonys due to the 'gay mafia' drooling over the hotties in SPRING AWAKENING and Duncan Sheik.”

“Ne-Yo is a rap/singer who has been rumored to be light in the loafers. Considering that he sang "Lover. . . " with 4 male dancers may confirm the fact.”

“How about for a New Years resolution that you all stop with the obsessive posts about Patti LuPone? She is a B-level Bway baby and always will be....”

“Go back to Long Island, Patti. . .”

“Wow.

What a pathetic bunch of people you all are.

It is obvious you are all unhappy people f*gs or f*ghags who were picked on in high school and have never gotten over it.

Well, when you all die alone and friendless I will be there to laugh at how little you have all accomplished in life except for your autographed Patti LuPone CDs and Sutton Foster shirts.”

SHE SHOULD TAKE HER OWN ADVICE:
“Good Lord, we are on the verge of Thanksgiving and the holiday season. Please stop acting like someone is sticking a pin in you. . . this is a silly chat room which is getting sillier and nastier by the minute. Why I bother. . .”

I DON’T KNOW? WHY DO YOU BOTHER? YOU DON’T HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR ANYONE BORN AFTER 1970.

"TheatreDiva90016 - another good reason to frequent these boards less."<<>> “I hesitate to give this line of discussion the validation it so desperately craves by perpetuating it, but the light from logic is getting further and further away with your every successive post.” <<>> -whatever2

SupMom - for what it's worth, I took Ms. Streisand's tribute as a way to show who and what she's influenced. It seemed to say, "Hey you, who think these folks are great, this is where it came from."

#80Hearing 'My Generation' on the show...

Hi Q- I see your point. However, I don't think Ne-Yo was that influenced by Barbra. I don't even remember Beyonce ever talking about Barbra being one of her influences. My daughter thought the entertainers were just a way for the younger people to watch the show. Like I said though, I did enjoy the show.

Beyonce has said in a couple of interviews that the career path she is aiming for is Barbra's, in regards to acting and producing etc.

It took me a few days, but I now realize that although initially I was fond of the tribute, overall I think it was a wasted opportunity. Why not bring Shirley McLaine (her best friend) or Warren Beatty? Or Marvin Hamlish as a conductor? I was sad that, unlike the other honorees, she wasn't celebrated by her friends. And yes, she does have a lot in the entertainment business, contrary to people's beliefs.
