interesting that streisand is being honored during bush's final weeks in office...she's been vehemently opposed to him from day one.
add to that mix her stepson's portrayal in oliver stone's controversial "W" bio pic.
i wonder if they had anything at all to say to each other before or after the ceremonies.

Yeah, that version of Love Reign O'er Me was terrific. Who was the singer? I didn't get her name.
And what was that look that W. shot Pete and Roger? Not at all friendly.

Reign O'er me takes performance of the night so far. That was fantastic!
I didn't think I would enjoy this George Jones part so much, but my grandmother adored him.

I think all the tributes are awful. I'm assuming they're longer and just chopped up for TV because they skip decades and leave out critical details.
Except this George Jones tribute seems interminable. I can't believe the first lady gave the intro. She just lost any credibility she had with me...and that was already very little.

Posted: 12/30/08 at 10:32pmHaving participated in the Kennedy Center Honors in 2004, the editors definitely chop up the final product, as the number I was in, was literally cut in half by the time the program aired on television. I agree, this evenings show is quite boring.
