The little Brittany/Santana kiss was adorable, the poem that Chris wrote had me DYING haha (I applaud Darren for his ability to keep such a straight face- I have no idea how he was able to do it! lol), and the Kurt/Blaine kiss was amazing
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
^^^^^Pretty sure that is the case with most of them but I think Santana, Tina, Mike, and Quinn are other contenders to graduate. I could see Mercedes and Brittany among the regulars to stay.
BTW, Chris and Cory pretty much flat out said they found out on the internet that their run on the show was ending before being told by anybody on the show. Not that either of them thought they would stay in HS forever but it seemed, especially in Chris' interviews after the announcement, that both were perturbed by the timing (Emmy nominations were being announced) and that they did not get the 411 before their twitter accounts exploding.
As for Idina, I read that we may finally see Rachel's dads on the show. They are not going to be the guys in the photos in her locker in the pilot as those guys were not even professional actors but if they get actors who vaguely look like the guys in the locker pictures, I would suggest Jesse L. Martin and Jim Rash (Dean Pelton on Community).
I remember rumor about John Barrowman playing one of Rachel's dads. I'd like to see that.

If Brittany graduates this season, there is something wrong in the world.

It has been stated from the Murphy, Brennan, and Falchuk that they have little doubt Brittany would graduate and if the show continues as the rest of them graduate it will be her as the constant presence at McKinley.
Was going to post this on the "Something's Coming Preview" thread over on the main board, but that conversation went in a different direction.
Anyway, I listend to "I'm The Greatest Star" and I've been noticing something about all of Kurt's songs. Why is it that when the song is too high for him to belt it, the arrangers don't take it down a few steps? Instead of big climaxes we get a weak falsetto. He sounds good, don't get me wrong, but all the emotion is taken out of it for me when he goes for the big finish and it's in a thin falsetto rather than a full belt, which he's capable of. I'm not saying using falsetto is bad, either, but to use it for the louder passages just makes the song weak for me. And he's joked that he does have a lower register (and showed it off in his Lopez interview) but his voice naturally sits higher. So why not lower the song to a key where he can properly sing it. Thoughts?
Ha! I noticed that when it aired. You can never say Heather Morris doesn't try. I read somewhere that also said Mark Salling got caught on camera going cross-eyed.
Another fun one I noticed was the character Sugar Motta reading War & Peace during lunch period. Either used for foreshadowing the food fight or she is really trying hard to present herself as a brain (because I am sure in her warped mind having Asperger's also makes you a genius). I actually liked that the show got into how obnoxious people are self-diagnosing themselves are and excusing themselves from being a jerk.
REALLY?! No one has anything to say? I don't really enjoy the show anymore, but I loved the Idina/Lea duet. I got chills and my wife cried. lol What say ye?
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
I didn't think anyone was really discussing it anymore. Yeah, I liked Somewhere and Something's Coming. I hope this Santana out of Glee Club isn't permanent. I miss her in those scenes. I'm very interested in Brittany's class president campaign.

So I liked the performances and the songs but I miss the group numbers. Hopefully the fact that there is little camaraderie between many of the main members of group is addressed (it seems like it becomes an issue in the next episode).
But I will say unless the writers have Quinn be revealed to have some undiagnosed mental issues (I sorta wish this was addressed in the second season where postpartum depression would have been an easy outlet) because girl is going bonkers and she has a laundry list of reasons why.
I thought Puck with the baby was adorable but I think Shelby (another character I wish existed in season 2) is really not coming from the best place reintroducing Puck and Quinn. They're still in high school and the fact that they did not consider themselves parents material at one point is an indication that they have growing up to do, and that does not happen in 18 months.
I love the idea of Brittany vs. Kurt. Santana's 'Originally, the Unicorn was riding you' made me holler. I was surprised that joke made it into the 8 o'clock hour.
I nearly threw something at my TV with Rachel asking Finn to consider trying out for Tony. No, just... no.
I was really prepared to hate this episode but I loved it. One of my favorites and certainly my favorite dramatic episodes since Season 1. I loved Mike Chang having his Billy Elliot moment. I have no idea how much autotune went into his rendition of "Cool" but it was good along with the dancing (though the football players joining in and being that good was too much). If we actually get to see the musical, I just want to see his performance as Riff.
My tolerance for this show has gone, but I did "awwwww!" at Mike Chang dancing with his mom!
The Rachel/Mercedes thing - how many "diva offs" have they had for it to matter anymore? Solo for Sectionals S1. Take me or Leave me. "night of neglect" last season. It's just old. So is the Rachel "I will do anything and betray anyone to get what I want".

FINALLY!! Glee gives us an honest moment. The Mike Chang storyline was the most real thing about this show. It was believeable, it was well written and well acted/danced.
The Rachel/Mercedes clash was poorly written. If you want two divas to battle it out, you don't have them sing "Out Here On My Own" because the song doesn't have an emotional climax which every diva needs. Think how much better the competition would have been if they sang something like "On My Own" from Les Miz that has an emotional build to it. And no Mercedes did not perform it better than Rachel, IMO they were both equal (and I'm rooting for Mercedes).
The girls looked wonderful in the Dreamgirls sequence. Kudos to hair and costume people.
Unfortunately the writing is slipping in other ways. Mr. Shu tells Mercedes she's out of Glee? She has a hard time over something and he kicks her out after just having kicked Santana out the week before? A good teacher wouldn't be threatening Mercedes like that, he would be trying to help her through. Is Mr. Shu interested in keeping kids in Glee or kicking them out?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
Mark this day - Goth had something nice to say about Glee!!!! lol
well from the past few episodes (and past few seasons) it has been hinted that overall Mercedes attitude has sucked. she doesn't practice, etc. So I mean other than the over-dramatic way it was done, I could see a kid getting kicked out of an extra-curricular if their superiority is starting to hinder or effect that of their classmates who are working hard. And Santana's was for her sabatoging the club.

I want to take Rachel and Mercedes heads and bang them together. Tinky is right...how much can we take of this diva sing off? It's old...let's move on. Besides, if I was a diva I would be fighting to play Anita. That role has so much more substance. Maria is so boring. With the powerhouse voice and attitude Mercedes has, she would be much better as Anita! I wouldnb't have even considered her for Maria. Besides, how ridiculous would she look next to Blaine?
Mike's storyline last night was the only saving grace for me.

I liked last night's episode. But, I think they tried to jam too much into it, so it felt a little clustered at times. Like I feel Brittany's song and that part were squeezed in, just to have 43 minutes or however long it was. I too agree that the Diva contests between Rachel and Mercedes is getting old.
I did like the moment between Mike and his mother. And I did like the Brittany stuff, but again, it felt like it didn't fit with the rest of the episode. And, Emma's parents are really weird.

Last night's episode was the best since season one. And one of the greats of the series.
In three weeks, they've completely corrected course and have gotten back to what this show is about: kids finding themselves through performing. And how wonderful (and, at times, awful) that journey can be. Yeah...Out Here On My Own wasn't the best choice...but it didn't really deter that much. Cool was extraoridnary...not just for finally seeing Mike Chang as a star, but for also providing choreography that was thrilling, original and as valid as the Robbins' choreography. Perhaps WSS could be rechoreographed at some point. And that's the first time I've ever had that thought.
But what's most shocking is that all three episodes of this season have built in theme, character and story arc. I mean...what the F*CK show am I watching??? How has this happened. And major, major kudos for the new writing staff for seeing the potential and capitalizing on it. No...it's not as whiz/bang/boom as episodes past. But what it has gained is storytelling and, for the first time in a long time, I care about every kid in the room. Something I never thought was possible.
Emma's parents - ha. As soon as I saw them I started to yell "It's Donny Most and the crazy lady from Northern Exposure!" My sister had no idea what I was talking about lol
I made sure to stay tuned for the clip of the next episode (airing 11/1 after the MLB playoffs) and was disappointed to see not once hair on Damian's head. I was hoping to see him in character even for a moment.

I didn't even realize it was Ralph Malph until I read it this morning! Holy SH*Tbags. And the mother? I still remember her guest appearance on WINGS as a complete lunatic. She's kinda brilliant.
And I was genuinely touched by Emma's crippling OCD. I was going to say, 'I hope they don't minimize it by making Will be her savior through his love for her.' But I've learned that, even when it's wildly inconsistent, GLEE never really takes the easy way out with such a plotline.
