This story saddened me to no end. My father was a gun nut. When he died a few years back I had ti transport his guns, 15 in all across state lines. I was libel for them if they were stolen from his home or his crazy girlfriend decided to use them. He gave my younger brother a BB gun as a Christmas gift when he was 10 and a 22 when he was 12. I sort of know the mindset of this kid's parents.

As sad as it sounds Jay.  I don't have many friends but the gun owners haven't moved an inch, they didn't move an inch after the babies.

...to be clear, you're saying that there needs to be a tragedy on such a large scale that even the gun nuts can't ignore it. Okay. If Sandy Hook didn't open their eyes, surely nothing will.

You can't talk to gun lovers, it's despair more than anything.  You'll never disarm the USA, it is looking more likely that we would think it's crazy not to have one since everyone else does.  These are people I love who believe in this insanity.  I think this week there was a shooting at a college every day.  There are people in this world who think all students should have arms on campus.  It's mystifying.

Hate it when people talk about better mental health care as a solution to less gun violence.  That's like saying the reason we have 20X the murders is not because we have 20X the guns, but because we're 20X as crazy.  If Bernie and Hillary are going to go there I'd just rather have them shut the eff up.

This is such a tragedy in the US that if it wasn't so ridiculous at times, you wouldn't believe the stupidity. Like the @hole in a Walmart parking lot in PA last week. He went on a shooting spree AT the Walmart BECAUSE the Walmart will not sell the ammo for his gun/rifle anymore. So you shoot up your ammo because you can't buy anymore where you shot it up. What's that about mental health again?
