This is something that the Joan Deniers deny but that out lesbian comics understand: that Joan's humor was not making fun of the misfits. It was the liberation that comes when you find humor in the what out lesbian Judy calls "the most tragic, forlorn and traumatic experiences."

Which leads to the logical conclusion that Joan would have found the doctor taking the selfie with her unconscious body HILARIOUS, right? But the Joan Translators will tell is why THIS is not funny but THAT is. Also, if a JT can tell me why Adele "Rolling in the Deep… fried chicken," is hilariously liberating for fat girls like Adele I am all ears.

BTW, is the same doctor that was reported earlier as being part of Joan's entourage who stepped up to do the unauthorized biopsy? Entourages are dangerous. Just ask the late Michael Jackson.
