I'd take them, but I have no money and I would never make it in time now, anyway.
Yeah, post it on the main board. Not that many people read these threads, but a post on the main board will get more people's attention than the 20 or so that read here.
I posted it.
Good job, Bohemian!
Thank you.
I've already gotten an offer.
See! Wasn't that harmless?
Starting threads is scary...
So I thought I had close to $500 in my account. And when I got the cable bill it was for $100, because I think we recycled last month's bill. So when I went to check my online statement, I had less than $100. My roommate took a month to deposit the rent cheque, and all the money I thought I had is now gone. My mom's giving me allowance, and I still have my roommates RENT cheque, but now my parents are going to have to wait for me to pay them my portion of the RENT tickets. bah.
It is Mandi.
All is well. I sold them. Yay!
I don't think I've ever started a thread here yet. I'm always afraid that somehow the search engine will have missed an older thread on the same topic and I'll get yelled at for being a lazy idiot (of course, I'm always amused when that actually happens to someone. Why do I suddenly feel the urge to listen to "Schadenfreude?")
But that's not what Schadenfreude means!!
....according to my full blooded German grandmother.
Though the internet says it's what the song claims it to be...
A malicious satisfaction obtained from the misfortunes of others. Am I missing something?
According to my grandmother, it's some kind of "fake happiness". *shrug*
I should add that I didn't say anything against that to her, other wise I would've risked another wacking by a wooden spoon. I mean, I got smack upside the head once by make a joke on how only tall people could open Lays potatoe chips.
Hehe
...sorry. It was just a funny memory.

Schadenfreude is definitely what Rachael said it is. In German, it literally means "sad/damage [schaden] happy [freude]."
On another note, I'm so happy that I'll never have to sit in a German class again after 37 more school days.
Sarah, tsk tsk for spending money on Cary's CDs.

A little late, but I still have my treasure trolls. And we also played with pogs...yo-yos were a big fad, pokemon, hula hoops, koosh balls, giga-pets, furbies...all that good stuff.

I am so incredibly angry at myself for begging my parents to buy me as many Beanie Babies as they did.
I was obsessed to the point that I could tell you my Princess bear Beanie was better than my friend's Princess Beanie because mine had a third-generation tush tag (or something equally pathetic). I had hundreds upon hundreds of Beanies, and often my parents would have to pay much more than $5 to get the rare bears and the like. I would not be surprised if they spent around $1000 total on them. In retrospect, I'd really love that money right now for college.
When I was home for break, my mom was like "don't you think we should get rid of some of these things?" while pointing to my shelf of Beanie Babies.
Thing is, I still think they're cute!
Schadenfreude is definitely what Rachael said it is. In German, it literally means "sad/damage [schaden] happy [freude]."
It's possible that she somehow misheard the "schaden" part to a word meaning "fake" when I said it.
I'm not going against her meerly for the fact I don't want to be smack on the hand or something. My cousin actually got chased around the house by her and a wooden spoon. Quite funny to watch. But he said something mean.

Oh, Sarah, I know the feeling. I'm like, "Hmm, can I go without groceries this week? Or maybe two?" I'm definitely going to have to ask my parents for money sometime soon.
I still like my beanie babies.
I could be the only one who collected them, and it does sound kind of weird for something for a twelve year old to like - but Absolut Vodka ads. Anyone?
I have binders upon binders of them.

I still have my beanie babies...all *cough300cough* of them. All the bears are still on my shelf, and I still have a trunk full of teenie beanies. It was my dad and I's "thing" to do together when I was little and I'm too sentimental to put them away.

I still think Beanies are adorable and will probably never get rid of them because, well, I do think they're cute and we'd never get much back for them anyway. However, I still regret making my parents essentially waste all that money.
HA, Fantab! Your parents must have been thinking, "Wow, this doesn't really bode well for our little daugther's future..."
I collected Got Milk ads, but I think I threw them away in my extreme animal rights phrase. Heh. I don't really know.
Actually, my mom totally helped out. They're really cool when you look at them. She definitely just saw them as cool pieces of art.
Fantab, my old roommate was a Commercial Design major and said that her professors all thought that Absolut had the most brillant ad campaign of any product out there.
