Our best explanation is that the dose that was given to Nora was stronger than what was in the True Blood.
The only argument against this was the episode before last when that random vampire's maker who was knock-knock-knocing on True Death's door. It is possible that off-screen he was given a dose of Hep V similar to Nora's.
I agree about the telepathy. He would have not been able to hear Andy's daughter like he couldn't hear Arlene, but Sookie was right there. The only thing is that maybe, in vampire mode, it overrides his telepathy.
I doubt Pam could have saved Eric, since her daywalking ability would have vanished at the same time. I assume that Willa would have felt him die, but she may have just gotten over it in 6 months. She did only know him a week, the same length of time it's been since she's seen the sun.
They did mention that Hep V was mutating in ways they couldn't explain or predict. I figure that's why it stopped killing vamps and made them more zombie-like.
That said, was Hep V never mentioned in the first season? Was that only in the books? I have just been confused since they brought it up since it's been in my wad the whole time. Somewhere there was a group of vamps feeding off some willing participant and Sookie heard him think about having Hep V. Maybe since I read the books after starting the show, I pictured Anna Paquin saying it. lol
And did Eric really die? I had no idea Skarsgård was leaving the show.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
Jersey, I think they talked about Hep B in earlier seasons. But I think this is the first appearance of Hep V, which I got the impression is something they've mutated from Hep B, for the specific reason that vamps can't heal themselves of it, whereas they could heal themselves from Hep B.
Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.
I could be mistaken, what with the 20 different vampire series on TV this year. It's tough to keep the details straight. Like in which series vamps burn in the sun, or sparkle in the sun, or get stronger in the sun, or have no problem at all in the sun.

What really sucks is that Pam and Eric have been more or less on the outs since season 4 and there was never any real resolution to their relationship.
"What really sucks is that Pam and Eric have been more or less on the outs since season 4 and there was never any real resolution to their relationship."
And that's just one of the many reasons why Skarsgard (Eric) isn't going anywhere. The writers wouldn't have had Pam go look for him if they were writing him off for good.
Has it been announced for sure that Alexander Skarsgard won't be back next season? I figure that there must be a reason why they only showed him catching on fire and screaming, but not actually disintegrating. There could be a random explanation for his survival next season.
"There could be a random explanation for his survival next season."
There will be.
I don't think that Eric has met the true death, but even if he has, that doesn't preclude him from coming back and making appearances from the beyond, a la his maker, Godric.
There were a bunch of rumors before this season started that Eric was going to die. It could all be a big fake-out, but I'm pretty certain Eric met the true death.
Maybe because she was a minor? I dunno. That reminds me of the magistrate hearing for Bill when he killed another vampire, though we've never seen any other repercussion since for a vampire that killed one of his own. In the books, all turned vampires had to be registered with the government, but there was no edict they had to forget their families. Of course, it was Lorena who told Bill he had to abandon his family, so maybe she was just full of sh*t and he didn't know any better when he turned Jessica.
I read a piece online that suggested perhaps Lettie Mae had Hep V, which is why she was so willing to let Tara feed.
That's an interesting thought, Phyllis. They went through the whole rigmarole of testing everyone but there weren't ever any results. Maybe this time Tara will finally die!
I can hardly believe that Eric met the true death. Was the parting gift for the audience supposed to be the dick shot?
"Pardon my prior Mcfee slip. I know how to spell her name. I just don't know how to type it." -Talulah
I am pro Jessica not anti Tara! Why does Tara's mama get to know she's a vamp but not Jessica's parents? Because they weren't as stable as Tara's mother?
I think, since the rules are make-uppable as we go along, we will find Billith's blood has turned Pam into a shifter and she turned herself into the ice pellets beneath Eric on the mountain where he was reading the white book naked, as one does.
You will forever wonder why the rules of baby vamps are inconsistent just as I will forever wonder why Salome's 2000 years of life experience taught her that that horrible wig she bought at Party City was acceptable to be seen by others in.
Re-watching it since so many things moved so fast last night.
At the party at the new "Bellefleur's" bar, Sam is still with Nicole. It's 6 months later, so shouldn't she look pregnant? The shots of her were quick and not quite frontal, but she doesn't look pregnant, to me.
Bonus: Jessica's vamp, James, was singing lead in the band. Cute twist. Because we don't know anything about him, but he has the hair of a rock singer.
EDIT: Upon better inspection, she does look pregnant. Sorry.
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had the practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." --Alice in Wonderland
