I am curious as to whether it was skits not working in dress, LL not being able to recall lines (she did much better on the digital short than live - and honestly, if you look at her earlier appearances, she was always a bit wooden on the live skits), or whether there was something else going on that caused so much filler on repeat fake ads.
She showed up, got through it, made fun of herself, and honestly did not seem any worse than what I remember her from earlier appearances. So, for that, I think she exceeded what many thought she would do.
A couple of funny skits, but some just missed the mark.
The James Carville appearance on Weekend Update had me laughing out loud as well as Snookie - and honestly, the end of Rude Buddha made me laugh as well.
I didn't think anything was funny on the show tonight. Also, it looked to me that all that Lindsay's been through seems to have taken a toll. She had no energy in any of the skits she was in.
With the exception of the Disney skit, I thought most of it was pretty bad. Lindsay could barely get through a line without stumbling over it. Most of the skits simply weren't funny - like that horrendous caller skit or the scared straight one where rape just isn't funny (although to be fair I do love it when cast members crack themselves up).
Next week with Jonah Hill doesn't promise to be much better.
I agree, it was not a great show. I did like the Real Housewives of Disney though. Lindsay looks old, and that's a bad thing at her age.

I REALLY LIKED 'The Real Housewives of Disney' sketch. However, I did not think the episode was very good. Lindsay was not completley focused and she did mess up some lines. Like she said during her monolouge after Kristen Wiig searched her, maybe she did come back too soon. She was much more funnier during her appearance at the 2010 VMA Awards. I did like the appearances by John Hamm and Jimmy Fallon though.
They really peaked at the Real Housewives of Disney sketch. Cold-open was great and monologue was nice and sweet next sketch was great and then.... fizzle with some bits mildly amusing that over-extended themselves with the possible exception of the Psychic Awards. Taran Killam and Bill Hader walked away with this episode.
I thought Lindsay did fine for the most part. The scared straight sketch was really the only time she looked out of her element, looking at cue cards and fumbling lines. In her defense, that bit has been terrible and offensive for a while and those tangents written for her (as herself) did not really fit the flow of the bit. Kenan Thompson wins the week for most mugging performance, especially in the digital short where every non-Kenan voice is his Al Roker voice (which is terrible).
It was not a crash and burn or a star-turn but it was fine. She may have not exceeded expectations of either but if this were any other host I don't think it would be so picked apart.
To call it the most worst episode ever, is ridiculous. Nobody seems to remember January Jones, Paris Hilton, or the terrible nose-dive of Gabourey Sidibe's hosting gig after her musical monologue (and there was not a skit she was in after where she didn't fumble her lines). Honestly, my floor for terrible performances would be Louise Lasser locking herself up in her dressing room and incognito for most of the show after giving a rambling monologue. Lindsay was not even close.
It was nice to see Lindsay try, but the episode was a bust. I thought the Disney Housewives are lame. The only thing I laughed at was the skit with the crank calls but that was due to Wiig. "I'm going to a topless forest." hahahaha
Lindsay was just set dressing in most of the skits. It certainly wasn't a comeback. I really wanted it to be great.

"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
I too wanted it to be better than it was, and it's nice to see others wishing her well too - she tried, and at least she's going in the right direction.

So far it's pretty good.I liked the 6 year old kid skit.

I love the J-Pop sketch. They are grooming Taran to become the new break out star it seems. Specially since a lot of cast members contracts are up this year.
