Personally, Bono and The Edge just seemed like the classiest guys on that stage all night.
They're VERY good sports.

Yeah, Jackman's a better host. We get it.
The Spiderman song was not as bad as I though. I "sort of enjoyed it."

since when does a show that hasn't even officially opened get to perform?
Since the composers of the show can prevent the ratings from plummeting.

That Spiderman number made me want to see the show even less. Otherwise great job by the other shows so far. Liked the opening, but can only imagine how much better it could of been if BOM did "Hello".

If I remember right the part was beefed up some for the Tony's unless it changed in the last month.

Wow...now that will make everyone run and see "Spidey"--- Ok, now I remember why I loathed it !! That was like musical Ambien!!

The music was pretty, and that surprised me. But the lyrics made me want to shoot myself. I cannot stand overwrought lyrics. It didn't advance the plot or the romance. And isn't Peter Parker supposed to be a nerdy guy who can't express his true feelings for MJ?

There were much better songs to showcase that show.

It was pleasant. It's no masterpiece. I wouldn't cite it as a favorite musical theater song, but it was better than what I expected. The lyrics were pleasant enough. I'm not raving about it, but I won't lampoon it either.

^Not to make it about Spider-Man but that song is in Act 2 when they are already dating. They eventually marry in the comic books so I -think- Peter eventually works up the courage.

Followed up by "Two by Two," I think that would have gotten more watchers interested in the show.

"Oh come on. Stop crying Nikki M. James. Pull yourself together. You didn't win the lottery or Sondheim's townhouse (or both). You won a medal on a piece of wood.
(Sorry I'm late to the party. And the whole show, starting from the opening, began to leave a bitter taste in my mouth.)"
hater. that was beautiful and touching. medal on a piece of wood???? does YOUR ass have a Tony???? Probably hell no.
benanti was absolutely shocked. couldn't hide her arrogance. thought she had it in the bag. haha!

They should have done "Rise Above."

Can we please retire that argument? Just because you don't like with someone or disagree with the result of an awards show doesn't mean you're jealous of them.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

The Spider-Man song was pretty, but sorta dull, kinda like Jennifer Aniston.
BOM's song was AWESOME! I wanna see it even more now, although I would have liked to have seen an ensemble song. But what a great solo song it was.
Loved James' speech by the way, gotta love heartfelt surprise.

Why is Whoopi dressed like Professor McGonagall from "Harry Potter"?
