Happy they didn’t reward Imelda and those awful keys she used in FOLLIES.

Best Actor is coming up soon. I think Jamie might take that one, but we'll see shortly!
Hamilton shouldn’t have been allowed. It’s had it’s broadway run it’s not a new musical. It’s a carbon copy from Broadway and this crap disincentives new English writers.

You’re not that familiar with theatre awards history, are you?
BroadwayConcierge, well-said! Following Gizmo6's line of reasoning, I guess British shows shouldn't play Broadway because they might ''disincentive'' new American writers.

lol why would that matter, it’s new to England
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
So happy to see those ladies from Girl From The North Country win! Both were fantastic and deserving performances. I still hope it crosses the pond at some point. I listen to the OCR all the time and still get the chills I felt when I saw it.

It's not "lol" or "tradition," it's how theatre seasons work in London and New York...
If you want to make up your own Gizmo Awards, go for it. But in the real world, when a new, full-fledged production opens in the West End or on Broadway, that's "new" by definition. Same thing happened here when Groundhog Day opened in 2017 a year after it did in London. And Matilda. And the current revival of Angels in America.
I've heard raves for Jamie as well, but Hamilton was just as equal a player in this Olivier season, and it won. Sorry you're mad about it.
I'm really disappointed Andrew Garfield didn't win. I know it's irrational, on account of me not even seeing any of the other performances in his category, but dang. Was hoping he'd win it, I was enthralled every minute he was on stage.
