What?!??
Better than those works of genius, The Band's Visit, or Dear Evan Hansen?
How quickly one forgets!

Most definitely better than The Bands Visit and personally on par if not a bit better than Evan Hansen
I didn't know that we thought Dear Evan Hansen or Hadestown was better than The Band's Visit lol. Personally, I think two lead characters in The Band's Visit are much much more deeper and fleshed out than the leads in Hadestown, so it would be harder for me to prefer Hadestown - as much as I love the score.
THE BAND’S VISIT made great theater for 90 minutes.
HADESTOWN made great theater for 2 1/2 hours.
Math doesn’t lie— Hadestown is better than The Bands Visit.

I personally love both of these shows. I agree that Tewfiq and Dina are much better and fleshed our characters than Orpheus and Eurydice. However, Hades and Persephone are, in my opinion, on a similar level of depth as the leads from The Band’s Visit.
Is this the official thread? Ha.

All of the design categories are being awarded before the telecast.
Choir Boy and Hadestown won the Sound Design Tonys.
Congrats to Jessica Paz, the first female Tony winner for sound design!
Hadestown winning scenic design, after there was no doubt in anyone's mind that Beetlejuice would win...sounds like a sweep is a'coming...
