Oh dear...RIP if true
Apparently (based on something I just read) there was a tour of the theater going on and the people on it where told that it was canceled because there had been a death.
Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette made an announcement on stage. They seemed pretty shaken up.

Because the family was trolling the BroadwayWorld message board at the same time of the death? Very rational. Get the **** over it! I'm sure the family was notified quickly. This isn't a case of you caring about the family. You look for any chance to tell someone they're wrong and you're right! Every post you make on here. This one's no different.

^Well that wouldn't make any sense. I doubt there would be a tour going on at the theater during a performance.

I don't like to start arguments, and I feel horrible for even mentioning this at this moment, but could you please argue over PM?
I just want to read updates and wait for some truth to come out. . .

^the tour thing came from a facebook post, I aw that one and was confused by it as well, I think it must mean they were with a group or something touring the city and seeing the show.
No, LegallyBroadway, you are completely in the right to ask for that to be held out of this thread. Death or no, this is a potentially serious matter.
For what it is worth, I am hearing that a stagehand was "severely injured".

@Johnnycantdecide, I thought they meant it was a group of people at the theatre. I just took it as tour=group

>>>"the facebook board is reporting a death by fans. . . ."<<<
Are we saying that the fans are murder suspects? Unclear.
Did the performance start and stopped in the middle or was the audience just not knowing anything and sat in the house wondering what was going on for an hour? Obviously something bad happened and waiting an hour means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I'm just curious what the atmosphere was like.

@Dollypop, sorry, writing very quickly. Didn't think that one through.
Come on guys... This is someone from our community that we all care about and love so much. Its one of us! Please, please stop arguing and have some respect for the person and for the people here who really want to make sure the person is ok. Its not a time to argue.

Sounds to me like the performance never started.
The show was delayed and then canceled.

Let's just take a breath and hope for the best.
I was there, and I just got home. This is what happened, as best I can tell from the audience. Just before curtain time, an ambulance arrived and EMTs went in the stage door. The performance never started. At around 8:15, an announcement was make that there was a delay, and they'd keep us posted. Around 20 minutes later, a similar announcement was made. We were in the 3rd row, and an orchestra member told us that a stagehand had had a heart attack. At 8:45, the ambulance was still outside the theater. At 9 o'clock, Radcliffe and Larroquette walked out and explained that due to "a tragedy within the company", the performance would not go on. A few minutes later, management made an announcement regarding refunds.

Has anybody been by the theater? Any ambulances? Police?
It's a bit bizarre that nothing has been officially reported.
Of course, my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in the cast and crew, as well (and especially) the family of this stagehand.
EDIT: I posted this at the same time the guy above me posted.

I hope the stagehand makes it through.
By the time we got out of the theater, there were no emergency vehicles.
Thanks for the update madbrian. Hoping for the best.

This doesn't seem like a technical accident
I don't think we shouldn't discuss the situation, but I think it's incredibly inappropriate for this Elisa Schneider person to have tweeted about a possibly death. And she claims to be an investor? I hope a producer has the good sense to chew her out, for being more excited to have a scoop than show respect for those involved.
^Elisa is a friend of mine who only wanted to keep the internet informed. How did her tweeting about it make any difference than the 100's of other people tweeting about it? She was just trying to get out what little information there was from a witness POV.
