OMG, does anyone love the music as much as I do? Those are some gorgeous songs and the show should have gotten a lot more attention and acclaim than it did.

It is absolutely one of my favorite shows. I love it!
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."
Same with me. I've never seen the show, but I LOVE the recording. All the songs are very well done and performed on the CD. I'm auditioning for this show next spring, hopefully I'll make the cast.
The Big River clip on Broadway.com gives me chills every time.

I saw the touring production in July and absolutely loved it. I consider it one of the better shows I've seen.
Cool stuff: The woman who does the solo in "Seasons of Love" on the Rent OBC played the mother of the deaf girl.... and Michael McElroy seduced me to tears. :p
I love love love Big River. I've only seen the tour of the Deaf West revival, but it's a great show! One of the most beautiful productions of anything I've ever seen. http://www.livejournal.com/community/bigriverrevival
Deaf West production of Big River has completed its Tokyo tour, and it will start again in Green Bay on 11/9. The cast absolutely enjoyed their stay in Japan although they experienced storm, typhoon and earthquake.
I've created an unofficial fan site for this touring company and I was fortunate to have interviews with Tyrone Giordano, Michael McElroy, Daniel Jenkins, Garrett Zuecher, Joe Brent and Bill O'Brien, and they are posted on the site. There are many photo at the stagedoor and final performance curtain call too (during the curtain call, the cast started to take pictures from the stage too!)
Please check it out if you are interested in this show!
Thanks to the generous donation by a foundation and other donors, all the tickets for Big River performances in Boston run are 50% off! So if you live near Boston, there is no reason not to go and catch this wonderful show.
Of course, if you already purchased the tix for full amount, you can still exchange it for 50% off tix (though it's not guarantee that you'll get the same seat), how fab is that?!
I am thrilled that I got to see both the original production and the revival of this show. They are both amazing productions of a great show! It was great to also see Daniel Jenkins back in the show (he was originally Huck and then was Mark Twain).
"Judy Garland, Jimmy Dean, You tragedy Queen" ~ Taboo
"Watching a frat boy realize just what he put his d!ck in...ex's getting std's...schadenfruede" ~ Ave Q

umgeoboy, did you see that his site has been added to Broadwayworld's who's who today?! Yeah, I'm so grateful that Dan auditioned for the revival and got the part too!
I love BIG RIVER. I was in a production a few years ago and didn't really know the show to well, then I jumped at the chance to see it On Broadway last Summer, and was so completely moved that I couldn't stop thinking about it. BIG RIVER would have gotten my vote for Best Revival over ASSASSINS.

Anybody who saw the show last night? I heard that Dan was out and his understudy went on as Mark Twain/Huck's voice. I wonder if he gets the role next year?! Light To Shine! Big River fan page
