At this point I'm hoping the film happens, it can't be worse than the previous two films (especially the Bette Midler one, which only gets worse the more years go by). Lady Gaga would be a great Louise, though Natalie Portman would be my top choice.

I have no problem with Gaga as Louise, and I'd love to see Anna Kendrick as Dainty June. I'd also like to see Kevin Kline as Herbie.

Afterthought: depending on her performance in Les Miserables, Samantha Barks might make a good Louise.

I was already scared of Streisand/Gypsy, and this worries me even more. I'm a HUGE Gaga fan, but I just don't know that she has the acting ability.

I could see Lady Gaga as Rose. It'd be a new, deranged, scary version of the character. But heck, Rose is kind of already a nut.

I don't know where people are coming from when they say she doesn't have the right look. I don't even think being 'attractive' really hurts Louise that much though. Her main problem is that she has no self confidence, and is dressed like a boy throughout act one, not to mention her lack of musical ability. If Benanti and Blanchard are 'ugly' enough than Gaga sure as hell is.

I could see gaga more as Mazeppa than Louise. Don't forget, at the end we see how really pretty Louise is.

I'm not saying that she's right for the part, but someone like Katy Perry is much better suited for the Gypsy Rose Lee transformation than Gaga.

I heard a rumor about Mel Gibson as Herbie. Hmmmm...

As for Lady Gaga, she looks much more appropriate when out of her performance makeup. It might work. We need to see her act first, though.

Look on the bright side, at least we won't get Lea Michele.
