The Goodbye Girl
The Goodbye Girl.
The Goodbye Girl
BIG
BIG will always have a special place in my heart, even if it wasn't that great.

I just love that score.
Big. The book is problematic, but SO much of the score is great.
We're basically comparing two very flawed shows.

Goodbye Girl.
This is the best March Madness thread yet. Both are very flawed shows but were nevertheless great nights at the theater. Interestingly, both shows underwent major revisions after their Broadway productions (Goodbye Girl for London and BIG for the tour), so if you were to see productions of them now, they'd be vastly different from the ones that opened a decade or so ago. Anyway, I'm gonna go with....
BIG
The Goodbye Girl, Martin Short and Bernadette Peters had great chemistry that added to the show.

Oy, two shows that both should have been better. Watching "Big" was actually painful at times, but "The Goodbye Girl" was deadly dull. I'll say BIG. And pray that I forget it.

BIG...if only for Barbara Walsh's performance of "Stop Time".
I wonder how many people who are voting on these threads have actually seen the shows or are going on cast recordings alone. Because that is not the full measure of a show. At all.
