Well, it is a bit different singing in front of about 1.300 people or singing before millions of people worldwide with lots of cameras. There must have been some tension. I have seen a lot of rock groups performing live. Look at Ozzie Osbourne, he usually forgets his words. I think it is only human to forget. It was only nerves, I think.
I haven't been to the show yet, is this song performed the same way, or was this different?
Yes, And also that difficult cue relies on him being able to hear the beginning of the sustained strings after the judges have asked him the question. Because the audience continued clapping for so long he couldn't hear the start, and came in to late, only noticing when the note changed! But well done him for managing to continue, he must have felt awful!
I thought Liam was great on cin. He may have missed the sue but he covered it so well. My mate Jess didnt even know he had missed it as she has never seen billy elliot. He was amazing.

Hey, just browsing this site for any updates on Billy Elliot and came across this about the OCR. https://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=5980 It says that all 3 billys will be singing on it, so i think thats why the date has been changed because they were probably only planning to have Liam on it but then decided to have all 3 boys. Well thats just my opinion lol GMFan!! X

Yesterday I was up in London for the whole day; I had such an early start as I had a radio interview to do on BBC London’s breakfast show! Once this had finished I went over to the Victoria Palace to get some day seats for a particular show! I was absolutely amazed that I was 5th in line at 7:30 in the morning! This queue seems to start earlier and earlier!
It was good meeting up with a few people from this board, you know who you are
Firstly the matinee performance… We had Leon and Joey playing “Billy” and “Michael”. These two are brilliant, I can’t really add to much more on what I’ve already said in past posts but I do hope that they still with the show for as long as possible. We also had Daniel Coll understudy “Billy’s Dad”. He is just great in this part. I agree that Tim Healy’s facial expressions and timing will be a very hard act to follow but Daniel seems to add his own interpretation and does a fantastic job, especially when in the show he meets one of the older ballet dancers at the Royal Ballet School Auditions – it really made me laugh.
The ballet girls also stood out for me yesterday, their ballet skills are amazing! Well done.
Emma Hudson played “Debbie”, who again just shines throughout her performance.
Now for the evening (yes I did see the show twice in one day!). I got the chance to see James who has returned to the show for a limited time. He was paired up with Brad. Firstly, I want to say that I can see why Stephen Daldry had no hesitation in bringing him back to the show to help out for a while. James’ acting skills are just phenomenal, especially when it came to the “Angry Dance”. I guess the other thing that I noticed was how he had so much energy. With regards to his singing, he has a lovely voice, (I wish I could sing like it), although some of the tunes are high to sing, these were covered up extremely well. When it came to the “Electricity” scene… what more can I say! James seemed to get such a long applause, and one to be proud of. Well-done mate.
It was also nice chatting to you briefly at the stage door.
Now Brad, who played “Michael”; you and James seemed as if you have always been paired together, especially during “Expressing Yourself” what a laugh the two of you seemed to be having.
All I can say now is that I can’t wait for December 3rd! What a day this will be… see you all their.
Glad you had such a great day Electricity, sounds fantastic!! Thanks for the review and the 3rd is going to be some show! :) Steve

Be a BE*liever! Feel the Electricity
As I mentioned before, I missed the start of Liam's performance when it was live on TV so I was really pleased that Craig had quickly uploaded it and made it available on here.
As I started to watch it I thought, "what's that chatting in the background?" and only realised once everyone started talking about it that you can just make out the fact that it is the 'cue' that leads into the start of the song, ie one of the judges at the Royal Ballet School asking how it feels when Billy is dancing.
It's no wonder then that Liam couldn't hear it, not a case of forgetting the words ! Also, as I'm sure all the many fans of this show know... at the start of the song on stage, Billy leads it off when he is ready to... the other week when I saw it I wondered whether Liam was actually going to start at all, the pause seemed amazingly long !
Thus with it being the other way around on Children in Need, with the orchestra leading off first, it was again not the way Liam is used to starting off and so - as others have said - he did really well to pick it up as he did which was only noticed by the people who know how it starts and, as another contributor said, people who don't know it didn't even realise he had made a mistake. First rule, if you make a mistake and 10% of the people notice, why let the other 90% know about it ?!
I would be very surprised as well whether they had even more than one or two rehearsals for it too. Indeed if you look at the video, one of the camera shots is wrong as it 'lingers' on the two empty seats for a good few seconds before the cameraman realises he should pan to the right to pick up Liam !
As is the whole evening with Children in Need, it is fast paced and moving along all the time and with a fair bit of filling and ad-libbing taking place to keep it together. So, as I said before, for a 13 year old to pick up on a stumble and not be phased by it was superb and so professional, well done again Liam !
TOTALLY agree with you Brian2, I thought that firstly its not Liam's fault n 2ndly, the camera crew is just bad. They were spinning and zoomin in n out n in n out, I feltquite dizzy! And they weren't filimg where the action was! I felt that's just ridiculous! Same happened last yr, maybe they cud improve on that!

Hi, i've been following this board for ages now, but only just decided to join... The cast of Billy Elliot would probably find it so funny if they knew what a following they have, lol.
btw, does anyone know who will (provisionally, obviously) be playing Billy on Thursday 1st December in the evening cos that's when i'm next going to see the show. i've seen the show 4 times now, 1 of each Billy!! which is perfect. cheers
Yep amazing how many people are on here and are true followers of the show ! I hope the cast do know about it.
As for Dec 1st, I'm not sure if you will find out for sure as they never seem to really know until the last minute and with various illnesses recently I think they could very easily swop people around at the last minute if they need to.
The only thing I would slightly guess, is that George is due to finish on the 3rd Dec (although there is some confusion still whether he actually is) and when James finished in September (before he was brought back to help out that is - hope you are following this?!) he actually did every evening performance leading up to his finishing on the Saturday. I don't know if this was just something they offered him as it was his last week but if it was, it could be that George might do the same, so you could get to see him. Otherwise I think it will be a case of wait and see !
hi all Seen the show a few times in the summer and thought it was great.Been following the board for a while now and decided to join at last. Just to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who have uploaded clips and kept us up to date on the OCR and the show. It has made facinating reading. Have been lucky enough to get a ticket for Dec 3. Looking forward to that. From all your descriptions of James last night it sounds like it might be a special show
George should be playing Billy on Thurs 1 st December, however as the Saturday of that week (3rd) would normally be a standby night for him and he will obviously be performing, then there could be some changes. It is less likely to be Liam as that is scheduled to be his night off.
Strange that Amazon UK appears to be offering three versions and prices of the OCR CD (including different prices, record companies and ASIN numbers for the 2-CD set). Has anyone heard anything, or is this just a mistake on their part? Here are the links:
Best prices for North Americans are still Amazon UK (Not Amazon.com US) since they drop the taxes before shipping. PowerPlayDirect only ships to the UK.
At the risk of inflating the CD cover debate, I'm not sure that the picture referred to as George is actually him- I think it was being used way back before the casting for the show was even announced. I think it might be a model hired to do the publicity shots. I'm prepared to be told I'm wrong though!
I'm glad you said that about the Poster/possible CD cover as I was never totally convinced that it was George and did wonder if it was just a random model.
I always thought that would make sense as the show was intended to run way beyond the initial "Billys" contracts so thought it would be more logical to have a 'neutral' character on the poster to 'future-proof' it. May be wrong as well so be interested to hear from anyone who knows for sure.
As for the CD cover and contents, I think it is the same as wondering who will be playing Billy each night - we are all just going to have to wait and see !
