At the risk of inflating the CD cover debate, I'm not sure that the picture referred to as George is actually him- I think it was being used way back before the casting for the show was even announced. I think it might be a model hired to do the publicity shots. I'm prepared to be told I'm wrong though!
I'm glad you said that about the Poster/possible CD cover as I was never totally convinced that it was George and did wonder if it was just a random model.
I always thought that would make sense as the show was intended to run way beyond the initial "Billys" contracts so thought it would be more logical to have a 'neutral' character on the poster to 'future-proof' it. May be wrong as well so be interested to hear from anyone who knows for sure.
As for the CD cover and contents, I think it is the same as wondering who will be playing Billy each night - we are all just going to have to wait and see !
Just to let you know that we have a good luck card for George on behalf of the board which we will plan to give him on the 3rd. I shall be in the stage door pub from 1pm and again at 6pm if anyone who is at the matinee or evening shows wants to pop in and sign it. If you would like a message included and are not able to be there please PM it to me and I will happily include it.
So how many times has everyone seen the show then? I'd be really interested to know, cos everyone thinks i'm really weird for seeing it 4 times (soon to be 5!!)
I will be in stage door hopefully before 1.30PM or after 6.30PM. But which pubs do you mean? I believe if I'm not mistaken, there are two pubs, and I believe both of them have the name of stage door. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Poppy2, I saw the show 5 times, 2xjames, 1xgeorge (soon, if he's leaving - 2xgeorge), 1xliam, and 1xleon. I wish I could see liam again.

As I am the Brian that I think Brian's Law applied to, I think you're right, it was just my comment about having to "wait and see". It is the only law I can think of... except good old Murphy's !
I've seen the show 8 times now, and still haven't seen Leon and Joey !
Liam 4 times, James and George twice each. I only live 30 minutes away from Victoria on the train so I suppose I have a slight advantage there. Haven't got tickets for the 3rd yet as I didn't think I was going to be available but I may be able to go, so will have to try and get the day tickets (a way I usually get to see the show) but guess I will have to queue from about 6am from what someone else said in another message !
If I can't get tickets, I will just have to come and meet you all at the Stage Door, both versions - the pub opposite (which is 2nd home to the older cast members I think - although Liam was sitting in there with his family and friends one afternoon in the summer!) and the smaller one attached to the Theatre.
This may seem like a daft question but how many songs does Billy sing in the show. The ones I know are: Electricity Both Letters Expressing yourself Stars look down Finale. Are there any more because I thought from seeing the show he (Billy) sang more but in the programm, it only mentions the name Billy for those songs.
Nope, the Stage Door Pub is directly across the road from the Theatre's stage door. That's the only one I know of with that name.
There is another on the corner, right next to the front of the Theatre (not sure what it is called) but the cast don't use that one I don't think - I've only ever seen them going straight across the road !
Doubt they will be doing that on the 3rd though as I guess there will be a big party somewhere - now how do we all get an invite to that ?
Yes, you're right, Billy does pick up on his Dad's song, the ballad he sings after Merry Xmas Maggie Thatcher.
8 times and you aren't in England... where do you live Jayo ?
I thought BE was costing me a lot of money, if you got to get here from overseas as well you truly are a dedicated fan ! Updated On: 11/21/05 at 07:04 PM
Just wanted to share in the Billy-love. Saw it for the first time on Nov 10th with Leon and no understudies. It was a beautiful production and an incredibly moving experience. I am still replaying scenes in my head. I especially loved the young-old Billy dance scene and the songs Electricity, Solidarity and Merry Christmas Maggie.
It took me a while to get used to paying for programs in the UK. Initially, I was irked that the only programs available at this show were 5 pounds, but I am so glad I bought one. It is beautiful. Also, I really liked the page with translations. I hope to see it again, but it will probably be quite a while before that happens.
Sorry to confuse everyone with my reference to Bryan's law- I was just referring to his previous message!
It seems that the cast seem to pop in to the Stage Door pub very briefly after most evening performances- all my friends who've seen the show and myself have seen them (which probably says plenty about our drinking habits!)
I've seen the show 3 times (George + Brad + Gillian Fitzpatrick, Leon + Joey, James + Brad). I'm going again next week AND on 3rd. Can't wait!
Sorry for any confusion I might have caused. The stage door pub is opposite the stage door on the other side of the road. It is the pub cast members tend to congregate in. I guess I will be the only guy there with a large card so you should not have difficulty spotting me. Thanks to those who have PMd a message for George. There is space left so do not miss the opportunity if you want. Updated On: 11/22/05 at 05:12 AM
