It really should be televised. Not on NBC. But either PBS or even BRAVO. This concert will sell-out in 2 seconds, leaving lots of fans without the ability to see it.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
"McPhee sounded good on the stuff she did but i HATED her portrayal of Marilyn."
What portrayal? We didn't see her play the character! All we got were short snippets of them doing random scenes for a tv show. You people are insane. This whole Katharine Vs. Megan thing is so stupid and juvenile. The fact is, it's not wise to try and say who would be a better Marilyn if all were basing it on is 12 second scenes from a book that doesn't actually exist. Megan has said she isn't a dancer, Marilyn probably has to dance if this ever comes to Broadway so maybe Hilty really isn't the best choice for Marilyn. And maybe Katharine isn't either. No one really knows. But seriously people..
Countdown til Jordan comes on raging about how much loves me! 3..2..1...
In an interview, Hilty revealed the songs she will be performing at the concert:
Solo
-National Pastime
-Moving the Line
Duet with McPhee
-Let Me Be Your Star
-Don't Forget Me
-Hang the Moon
-Secondhand White Baby Grand

Now, I know a good bit of us wanted to see Hilty do "Let's Be Bad", but we must understand that Moving the Line and Let's Be Bad are right next to each other, so it would have been impossible (or really difficult) to perform both of those numbers without a rest.
And, it apparently won't be filmed. Maybe since it's one night only, they'll allow fans to record certain things on their own? Idk, but I sure wish they would film it.
This week, they started dance rehearsals for the concert!
Above is a picture of the cast in rehearsals. Apparently, it was National Pastime. Jessica Lee Goldyn above is standing in for Katherine McPhee and Megan Hilty this week. National Pastime is also a song Hilty is apparently performing.
Doesn't really matter, but that woman is Jessica Lee Goldyn who opened the revival of A CHORUS LINE as Val, and later closed it as Cassie.

Above is a video of Megan Hilty as she sings "Moving the Line" at a soundcheck for her concerts at Cafe Carlyle this week. (She apparently sang Mr and Mrs Smith with her husband and she sang Let's Be Bad!)
I wonder why Goldyn isn't doing the actual concert??

"And who would Goldyn play? Or did you mean be in the ensemble."
yes, I mean in the ensemble.

And, for the record, I am glad that Jaime Cepero will be taking part in the concert. He's a very talented performer and he's gotten a bad rap on this board because we all hated his character.
While Ellis was an awful character, I definitely will not complain if anyone from the cast wanted to participate. I mean, Jimmy was an awful character, but I do like Jeremy Jordan as a performer.
I want to know what Brian d'Arcy James is doing. I want him to sing so badly.

My (not so?) secret wish is that they perform A Thousand And One Nights. Somehow. I know it's not part of Bombshell, and Raza Jaffrey isn't due to be there... I know it's not part of Hit List or Bombshell so is basically never going to happen, but I still have a real soft spot for the number.
I rewatched that sequence yesterday and it reminded me that Leo existed as a character! For all of Ellis's awfulness, he was nothing on Leo. Hoo boy.
Playbillhas several must see photos from rehearsals! They feature mainly McPhee rehearsing for "20th Century Fox Mambo" and "Public Relations" and Hilty rehearsing for "Let's Be Bad" and "National Pastime"!
So sad I missed out on tickets. I would pay quite a lot to be there. Though stub hub's $5k tickets are pushing it hahaha. I know it's been said quite a lot - and I fully understand why they can't - but I wish they would capture this in some way. Ah well.
Bumping this since tonight's the night for Bombshell in Concert. Looking forward to hearing from Pal Joey and anyone else here who is lucky enough to be seeing this. Break-a-Leg!
I hope all is so fortunate to go has a great time! I saw some pics and video on Playbill's instagram today from dress rehearsal and it looks Spectacular!
I'm so upset I'm not able to attend tonight! I loved Smash so much (biggest fan) and this was one thing that I've wanted ever since Smash first aired! So, I'm hoping other fans of Smash have enough fun for me too!
