Broadway Grosses delayed?

I assume the delay is due to Rosh Hashanah.

[I withdraw this comment. I was in a bad mood.]

I don’t want anything else to be read into this, but why would Jewish holiday delay the grosses ( honestly it’s a genuine question )

There are a lot of people in NY who don’t work on Rosh Hashanah.

Some of you need to spend more time in New York lol

Well if that was directed at me, I’m an Australian. So hence the question.

I remember the first time I visited New York and went to a couple diners and overheard conversations. I was like OMG! Seinfeld isn't a comedy, it's a documentary.

Broadway Grosses are most likely delayed because the Broadway League is in negotiation with AEA and it's gotten ugly. They dare not expose the money they're making this week while trying to pay actors less than they're worth.

I hope your being factious as the delay is clearly because of the Rosh Hashanah...if you think releasing grosses for the 2nd week of Broadway Week, which only exists we are in what is traditionally one of the slowest periods on Broadway is some sort of negotiating tactic, AEA's propaganda is clearly working... Both sides are trying to push their own narrative and no I don't believe its as Ugly as those on AEA's side are trying to make it out to be as I doubt Brook Shields will be the person to understand the plights and intricacies of those on ensemble and lower tiered productions contracts. If AEA wanted some major concessions and reforms to the contracts they would have floated them out before the negotiating table to give the League some time to figure out if they could make it work or find some sort of thing they can extract in return alla AEA's iron tight clauses on social media/digital marketing and pro shots/livestreams that make them next to impossible for producers to attempt. For the record these clauses were smartly put in at the beginning of the social media digital age to prevent easy exploitation, but times have changed and now they are more of a hinderance than guiderail.
Don't get me wrong, the Broadway League is no gem either as performers salaries while a large portion of operating costs the minimums do not make or break the bank for most shows and a 3%-5% increase will do little to change that, as its the the rise in Theater Operations costs (Rent, and front of house costs at Broadway Theaters) that have caused operating budgets to skyrocket in the past decade.

If you search “grosses delayed” on this board you will find many threads where they all coincide with a holiday. It’s ok, we can wait a day. Go outside and breathe some fresh air 🧘♀️

Are you just a A-hole or that dense? Worth to the actors who slaved their voices and bodies 8 shows a week to give you something to talk about on this board.

Oy vey is right. If an actor works a full year at the current equity minimum, that would be considered a middle class salary in NYC. And that is before any payouts to agents, managers, union dues, etc. Are we saying on a Broadway message board that Broadway performers shouldn't be at least able to achieve middle-class status?

Today is Day 2 of Rosh Hashanah so might be possible nothing is reported today either.
Posted: 9/24/25 at 3:08pm
You would think they could announce when they are being put out.
