The Muppets were always going to be the selling point here- they're beloved cultural icons and Lake's biggest claim to fame to the public is being a quarter finalist on America's Got Talent in 2018. Using the Muppets to get people in the door and then barely showing them was never not going to backfire. If the magic was incredibly impressive, perhaps it would mitigate their absence, but even that doesn't seem to be the case.
It's really surprising that Disney and the Jim Henson Co. would let such iconic and valuable IP be used like this. "
He is a creative consultant and has designed illusions for multiple Disney shows. Perhaps that is why Disney, who recently shut down their own theme park Muppets attraction, allowed their valuable IP to be used like this."

You’re no runner up, babe. You’re snark queen number one! Take a bow!

I have indeed seen it and it is amateur hour magic. He has little charm to speak of and the acts felt very stilted. I suppose if someone had never seen a magic show before they would think this is fine, but to me it was poorly structured. I've taken my nieces and nephews to many a magic act and this one is definitely towards the bottom of what I've seen.
I also realize that one singular person not knowing someone doesn't mean they don't have name recognition. However, not a single person in my professional or personal circles knew who this guy was based off of his name. And judging by the ticket sales (or lack thereof) this is a common enough experience. If he has name recognition, it's certainly not enough to sell a Broadway house. He was lucky to get the Muppets on board as a selling point, but they've been utilized horribly.

Disney demolished the Muppet attraction in June but making them the theme of "Rock & Roll Roller Coaster "so they will still have presence in Disneyworld.
There is also a rumor that MuppetVision 3D will return to the park once the Disney villains show finishes its run in the building behind Rock N Roller coaster. (Only supposed to be there for about 2 years).

If Stranger Things does not pick up this month, then it'll be gone by January. It'd be pointless for Netflix to keep hemorrhaging money on a concluded TV series. So what's next for The Marquis?

Have any of the single-act magic shows been a hit on Broadway? I know The Illusionists came on for a few consecutive years, but that was also multiple acts and rotating talent - something for everyone.
There was also that show, EL MAGO POP that was sold out, but it also all seemed very suspect since people appeared to have flown in from other countries to see him, but also the producers (or an affiliate) were basically giving away tickets to anyone who asked. I somehow managed to get two rear orchestra aisle seats for free (valued at $398 total) by emailing some Spanish production company and they just gave them to me no questions asked. I was convinced it was a dupe until I was in the theatre and tickets were scanned. That whole thing felt like some kind of money laundering operation to me.

Maybe it is me, but the Disney Villain show is awful!! If the MuppetVision 3D does return, I hope they update it.
Not surprised that things are down for Halloween weekend, that almost always happens. But I am surprised that a few shows that are Halloween adjacent like ST, Beetlejuice and DBH didn't do better.

Netflix just raised their rates again. In the time it's taken me to type this post, they've made enough money to pay for another 6 months of the show.

Was he ever really "in the show" after opening night?

That doesn't mean they want to throw money away.
I'm glad I got my TDF tickets for Liberation. How long can it last? It's disturbing that a play with those reviews cannot launch. But the show hasn't been creatively marketed, something of a well-kept secret out of the gate, whereas Little Bear, the other major new play, has been brilliantly marketed and is struggling somewhat. I still wish John Proctor hadn't closed, and now feel it might've had a successful run thru the first of the year (I know, I know, the Booth was booked). It played to 100% capacity all summer, and had folks returning 2 and 3 times. But you can't go back..

Most likely because season 5 has reportedly a price tag of $ 400-480 millions which is simply insane and unjustified. By January the ST hype will be gone, so we'll see if Netflix wants to keep throwing millions away monthly.
Mira Sorvino did absolutely nothing to help Chicago's grosses.

I know this is a joke but Oh, Mary! starring Miss Piggy and Kermit as Mary Todd Lincoln and Mary’s Husband, respectively, has been one of my dreamcasts.
Anyone surprised that Queen can do even this well given word of mouth? Maybe this is the effect of Chenoweth, her name and her fans.

I think it's lack of competition this season.
It's not doing that well. It'll keep sliding. And yes, a completely non-competitive season of few new shows.
