It's not even the numbers as they are. It's the fact that they DECLINED from a 5-performance week to an 8-performance week. That's insane!
Shut it down, y'all.

Maybe the producers are trying to lose money on purpose?

Yeah, I feel like people are overlooking that because Holidays is so egregious. But Butterfly's numbers are really, really poor.
Also, Time and the Conways closed this week, and it just kind of fizzled out pretty pathetically. Not that that's going to have any effect on Roundabout's programming in the future.

From what I recall prices are normally a bit higher during Thanksgiving weekend and the holidays (between Dec 24-Jan 1) so there's a chance that record will be beaten again in 4 weeks or so.
As for DEH, we'll see what the numbers are like this week now that prices will go back to 'normal'.
Once on this Island opens Dec 3rd so we'll see if the reviews are ok or positive. I think the rave reviews helped The Band's Visit a lot given how its numbers vastly improved after it opened.
I also wonder how the Thanksgiving day parade performances will help the numbers this week (and throughout December.)

I saw Conways on Saturday, and while I commend Roundabout for taking a risk on a rarely performed play I think this one should've stayed on the shelf. McGovern, Boyer and Ebert were very good, and the set was really cool (probably its only possible nomination) but overall a misfire. And this is coming from someone who really liked Marvin's Room.
And M Butterfly's poor performance really depresses me. Now there's a show that takes creative risks that pay off (yes, I know I'm the only person on the board who thinks that).

re why Home hasn't closed etc...
Aside from the usual reasons we've rehearsed a bunch of times lately, with a holiday show like this one, most of the costs have already been expensed or guaranteed, and many of the others might be waived or reduced. So combine that with a healthy dose of the usual wishful thinking from these sorts that business will pick up and you have your answer (as long as a great deal of rationality doesn't get in the way). For whatever reason, this was obviously a huge miscalculation.

Said thing is Candice Glover is incredibly talented and deserves a better vehicle than this. Would love to see her in something else. Even as simple as Chicago?

Maybe there's no budget for advertising, but I live in NYC and haven't seen a thing? I feel like this would be an easy sell to tourists. Why not plug it on the Today Show or something?

Did somebody actually pay $397 for Home for the Holidays? Or was that just the hoped for top ticket price?

Someone paying that much for home for the holidays is like someone paying a horse a 1,000 dollars to watch their children. It ain’t happening.

I've found, the horses will usually take much less if you haggle with them.
As far as the $397, as has been discussed here numerous times, that's the top posted ticket price. It doesn't mean any were actually sold at that price. Likely none were.

I have seen posters around subway stations and I heard a radio commercial recently, so they’re doing something.

Um, if you were referring to my post, I was being sarcastic. I thought it was pretty obvious."
No, I was referring to the headlines I keep seeing that say "DEH breaks records on Noah's first week!" making it seem like he's responsible for records being broken. It was bothering me yesterday.

But it did break records and it was Noah's first week. Correlation does not imply causation.
It just happened that he started on Thanksgiving week, when they sold more premiums since that is one of the most profitable weeks for shows and the show is now a hit.
The Hamilton cast made more money this week than the OBC ever did in a single week, too. It just doesn't have anything to do with the cast.
