Makes sense the numbers dropped a bit, post-Memorial Day and pre-Tonys.

Happy trails to Durrell "Tank" Babbs over at HELL'S KITCHEN.

Maybe Happy Ending is the only Tony nominated musical at 100% capacity. I don’t see how it loses on Sunday night.

So many shows are on a death watch right now. A bunch of theaters might sit empty this summer.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Operation Mincemeat seems to be at 100% as well, no? Buena Vista was nearly sold out too and does better than MHE overall.

It appears Longacre will be one of them again.

It seems likely to win but I struggle to see how selling every ticket means a win? This would not be a regular predictable pattern of Tony winners (in fact there are more than a few years where the opposite pattern appears to be true). Death Becomes Her is grossing more money because it has more seats and seems to have pretty positive word of mouth. I don't think it's impossible to imagine an upset, even if unlikely.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

It seemed as recently as like two weeks ago that Smash would outlast some of the shows immediately in trouble even if it was still gone by Labor Day. But now it is free falling FAST that I would say it's in almost as much danger as Boop, RWHC and Dead Outlaw.

Call Me Izzy is also looking a little underwhelming.

Is BOOP! announcing their closing date next week after the Tonys?I don't think Smash will live much longer in this world, it doesn't scream summer attraction for tourists

I don't know why 100% capacity in a 1,000 seat theater would be more impressive than 94% in a 1,500 seat theater. Three thousand more people are seeing DBH every week than its closest competitor.

Of course, I don't know what capacity has to do with winning Best Musical either.

Same with RWHC. I know they have producers with deep pockets, but the show is absolutely hemorrhaging money.

Only 7 shows instead of 8?
"

Last week they actually 9 shows -- not 8 (thus the 7 shows for this week).

I adored Smash. I only want it to close by Labor Day so Robyn Hurder can play Cassie in the 50th anniversary revival of A Chorus Line this Fall.

Did Smash ever change it’s ending to what RaisedOnMusicals claimed they did? Maybe that’ll turn the show around.

Ah man I forgot about that weird little moment after the other craziness.

CALL ME IZZY is basically just Jean Smart playing 8 roles in a Lifetime movie with a very minimal set…and the fact it still outgrossed DEAD OUTLAW is both shocking and depressing.

Sunday is really going to determine who is gonna be packing up their tents for the summer. MAYBE HAPPY ENDING, OPERATION MINCEMEAT, and BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB are decidedly safe, though MHE has the upcoming challenge of replacing Darren Criss and testing out how much in sales depended on his name/accolades. JUST IN TIME is also fine because Groff is doing his Groff thing and people seem to like it.

RWHC is likely done by end of June, SMASH could be end of July, and BOOP also looks like a June ending unless it wins big. It’s best (dark horse) odds of any win are Jasmine taking Best Actress because the Nicole/Audra split plays to her benefit and the show can then capitalize on “The Performance That Bested Audra & Nicole!”. Honestly, even though I’m Team Nicole, after the Drama Desks on Sunday, I’m seeing it more as a horse race between Audra and Jasmine.

Wow $4.24 million for Good Night Good Luck from 8 performances. Is that an all-time record for all of Broadway for an 8-performance week?

I know during the holidays Lion King has posted over $4.3 million but that was over 9 performances.
