Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 7/12/15

There are almost always two shows up for the Tony that start this argument. One show is deeper and darker and the other is the toe-tapping crowd pleaser. I much prefer the Fun Homes to the Americans in Paris.

I am team Matilda, Sunday in the Park, next to normal, etc.

That's because you're much older than I am. I was obviously being super sarcastic. Is it that hard to understand my young humor? If it is I'm sorry but like I said I'm not gonna be writing paragraphs for each post I make and I will continue to comment my opinion on these threads & I shouldn't feel like I was just scolded by my father because this is a theater thread, not some super sophisticated english seminar. & if there is one thing I am unintelligent about it is most definitely not relative to thee great Broadway.

I suppose FINDING NEVERLAND is perceived as having a child friendly marketing appeal (though personally I don't see it per it's actual SL) so the healthy box office should last until September. After that if it's still robust, then maybe it will have arened the moniker "critic proof"

zell, i know young humor. young humor eats you for breakfast. you are no young humorist. That said, I hope you do continue to post your opinions here, and show your theatre intelligence; it will be most welcome.

pinto, i love much of what you post here and I do think you just want to have meaningful convos about theatre. That doesn't mean we will always (or even frequently) agree. I just prefer for you to say it smartly and not fall back on lazy BS. (and when you do, I will continue to call you on it.) You get it, even when the lady doth protest too much.

"""Nice to see Hedwig finally break the 500 thousand dollar mark with Darren Criss. Is it his last week?"
This week is his last. Through Sunday. "

" This isn't the first time. It already broke 500 thousand during pride week."

Whoops! My bad - sorry. I hope that it increases again for his last week?
Is Taye Diggs that big of a draw? "

I can only judge by what I saw on Telecharge yesterday and so far Darren's final week seems to be ahead of his previous weeks. That doesn't really say much yet considering same day sales and the like still have to come into play. I am quite optimistic though that Darren's last week could end up being his best.

For Taye I can only say that his opening night doesn't look that hot right now. Only about 500 tickets (so basically half the theatre) gone but there is still a week to go so we will have to wait and see.

I am sure he won't do terribly, especailly with tourists in town who might not care too much about who is playing Hedwig. Besides it's not like Taye is some unknown.

That's pretty normal, a combination of the fans and the procrastinators.

Could Hamilton have its first week break 1 million dollars?

It would be a HUGE surprise to me if it didn't.

Posters like Philly and Zell have made posting here useless and reading the threads even more so. I know its all about free speech but the moderators should be looking at some quality standards. I wonder if the volume of posts have diminished over time?

Actually, the same could be said about Darren's run during Hedwig. Taye's run might give us a better idea if Hedwig is on it's last legs, since Darren's run was the weakest box office by far of all the prior Hedwig's (prior I think was Michael Halls).

Liza's headband- wowza thanks! My Impact :)

up in one- define posters?? I've been on this site way to short for you to compare me to Philly, so please don't. I don't even see how you are judging me from one thread where I was attacked for my opinion but okay

with Hamilton, considering they are selling even the partial view seats at $167 I dont see how they would make anything less than a million this week.

Conversely, I settled for Amazing Grace last night when my Hamilton hopes dried up...and oh boy those grosses are NOT gonna get better. The orchestra was full, but with tons of comped and discounted seats, and the Mezz pretty empty. My condolences to the cast.

That's quite the runner-up. Did you actually pay for a ticket?

Heaven help me Clyde, I did indeed pay money for such a thing. Very little money though. At least I'll be able to say I'm one of the few to see it, since there's no way I can see it lasting much longer.

I personally think it is on its last legs but that's just an early estimate by looking up Taye's Telecharge sales for his first 2 weeks.

I know it's too early to tell but I also randomly counted a couple of Darren's weeks 14 days before a while ago and those numbers weren't worse. They were a little bit better even.

Things can change of course with same day sales and it's still a week to go but that's my impression so far.

^ You do know that looking at Telecharge is not a good way to gauge sales right? They release sales figures every week. Why don't you look at that instead?

Also, you literally counted the number of seats sold/available? Im sorry to say that you wasted our time because those seating charts are never accurate.

Because I am bored and would like to get a feeling for how things are going earlier?
