Speaking of MR: For what it's worth, I saw Aaron C. Finley at the Wednesday matinee on 9/10 with an out of town guest (who had never seen a Broadway show, a rarity, that), and Finley was superb. He played Christian more like the film characterization, and took the roof off with his vocals. I hope he has another job on the horizon. He deserves one.

I think Hell's Kitchen (despite the pop up in sales this week),Gatsby and Mincemeat are the most likely January closings while I'm also keeping an eye on Six and & Juliet."
Moulin Rouge and sadly Outsiders should be watched. Outsiders grosses are wildly uneven and needs a pop-both shows lost over 200 this week."
I don't think Outsiders are in trouble. By now, they have built in base audience. Can't underestimate how wildly popular Brody was, hence the dip. The show can really benefit from stunt casting in the future, I think.
What's more shocking is that they still haven't recouped after having such a strong run for 1.5 years.

The Outsiders drop over the past 6 or so weeks is mind-boggling. This is what happened to Titanic 25 years ago...went from extended great business to a significant drop that did not correct and closed much earlier than I ever would have expected. It would be a real shame if this didn't 'correct'.
I am guessing that Hell's Kitchen needs for Alicia Keys to show up twice a week for a post-performance few songs. IT certainly seems to be working.
I wonder if back-to-school has hit Outsiders more than they anticipated. We know that the Thursday matinees were very popular for school groups. I remember that last year they started doing Thursday matinees relatively early on in the beginning of September. This year, Thursday matinees don't start for another two weeks. I'm curious to see how their grosses compare come October/November. Either way, I think they might have it in them to get through a small slump and run for another year.

I say this weekly, but Mincemeat’s grosses have remained relatively consistent for its entire run. While not a runaway success, they are doing well enough to continue playing at their current numbers, as well as a fanbase that returns continuously for different cast combinations. They also have their monthly lottery draw for $79 tickets - some that are HEAVILY marked down orchestra seats - that gets people in the door. At least to me, there has not been any indicator of imminent danger.

Re: The Outsiders - I still scratch my head at the near cult-like devotion to the show, specifically to Brody in the lead role. I thought the show was great, but I haven’t returned since I saw it in previews. I’m just pondering how they (or likely Brody) cultivated such a rabid fanbase.
Re: Other bubble shows - it could be another bloody January like 2009, but somehow a large chunk of these shows just seem to keep on ticking. In normal circumstances, I would call it for ROUGE and HARRY POTTER, but both have some major casting coming their way that could give them a bump (moreso for HP). To me, the shows most in danger are GATSBY, STRANGER THINGS (corporate hubris money is finite), SIX, & JULIET (where’s the star/stunt casting here?!) and possibly ALADDIN

Honestly, if she had the energy and comic gusto, her doing a stint in OH MARY would be inspired"
She seems like a lovely person, but she does not have the chops for Oh Mary.

Teenage hormones.
It's like how those crap vampire romance movies from 15 years ago did such big business.

That's the boys band effect. Popular all male projects will always have armies of rabid followers. They are what Backstreet Boys and N'Sync was for millennial women, I'm sure Gen Z has their own idols, so The Outsiders popularity is the least surprising to me.

Holy smokes. That is pretty brutal. Chicago at 55%?!?!? Yikes.

They have gone as low as 37%, but that was the first winter season post-COVID. Looking at the numbers, they only ever have dipped below 60% once a year and this week marks their third time for this year, and in the middle of a star casting run. While it’s not a panic mode yet, it’s definitely at least a yellow flag
If you ever told me that the Weisslers would outlive CHICAGO, I would have said you were crazy.

Show looks cheap and new sets needed because it looks like a high-school production. But the audience loves it none the less. Smart move having a 6:30 Sunday show.

Needs more advertising but producers are tight at this point.

Like Thursday matinees makes for a better theatre going experience.

I cannot imagine a more advertised show than CHICAGO. All over the theatre district, you have the ladies in costume handing out the flyers, flyers in every hotel and transport kiosk and they have a prime LED billboard in Duffy Square running 24/7 that is on at least 30 of every 60 seconds.
If I was a tourist, I would get the impression that Chicago is one of the only shows running
