Do they do the “sticker on the phone” thing?
Wilkommen, bienvenue, welcome back.
Already a critical and commercial sensation in the West End, Cabaret returns to Broadway in all its dark, sleek, immersive glory, as previews begin tomorrow (April 1) at the August Wilson Theatre. Besides Redmayne and Rankin, the fourth revival of the iconic title also stars Bebe Neuwirth, Steven Skybell, Ato Blankson-Wood, Henry Gottfried, and Natascia Diaz. Choreography is by Julia Cheng; Rebecca Frecknall directs. An opening night gala will take place on April 20, and reviews will be published the following day. Capitalized at an estimated $26 million, this Cabaret marks the most expensive revival in Broadway history.
Who’s ready?

No, they handed out stickers but no one was made to put them over the cameras.
The pre-show is such an experience! It’s like a mini show in itself! Definitely get there early enough to be there for that. And it takes place on several levels so make sure to visit all floors. So immersive, it really feels like you’re in the Kit Kat Club. They’ve redone the entire interior of the space, lobby, theater, hallways, etc. from the ceiling designs to columns, bars and wallpaper, it’s unrecognizable. So very cool!
I screamed when I saw those set photos, they're amazing.
If anyone would like to donate to my cause of "Getting my ass to the Kit Kat Club," would be greatly appreciated.

They might as well go ahead and engrave Eddie Redmayne’s and Bebe Neuwirth’s names on Tonys.

Saw this in London, so I can’t comment on him specifically, but I just feel like the Emcee is an award winning role. All of the Emcees work hard, but there’s so much pomp to it that anyone who plays it will be lauded. I’d still like to see Groff get it for what I thought was a more nuanced and understated part that he gave levels to. We’ll see!

I see people are once again expressing strong opinions about something they haven't seen a lick of.
Very excited to to see the layout of the August Wilson. Its floor plan is a bit more straightforward than the Playhouse, which has plenty of stairs and corners to wander in to.

Other than one poster mentioning Redmayne' performance due a Tony, I see no comments connecting on the quote of the show, whatsoever, much toy chagrin.

I'm pretty sure it is - the mezzanine behind the stage looks to have a much more severe rake than the existing mezz at the Wilson.

this all seems so gimmicky to me (zero plans to see this unless someone procures me a steep discount), but this seating chart/images make me even more convinced this is a show designed to impress the critics and die-hards willing to spend $500, and everyone else will be accommodated with horribly raked garbage views from up top. may it make millions! but count me out until i hear otherwise

You can see the views from the seats in London on the ATG site since they show their platform shows the view from the seats. I've sat in the cheapest seats in London and had a complete view of the stage.

Cheaper tickets = seats that are further away and/or higher up. Even cheaper may be partial view. I don't see how that's different from any other Broadway show. I'm going on a Wednesday matinee and got center orchestra Row E for $270. That should be a really good seat and was a far cry from $500.

I sat in Row M of the mezz for the dress rehearsal and the view was fine! Nothing was obstructed. There are no extreme side mezz seats like in London.

"We're going to create a new mezz, so we can very much design it to have good views of the stage. But we shan't, because we've decided to be comically evil and would like to not be known for doing a good job"

I am itching to hear reports on how Gayle Rankin’s performance is …
They recently added two sets of table seats in a box right above the stage (next to where orchestra is) for only $149. They are labeled as partial view, but I can figure out how much of the stage would be blocked. You're basically right on top of the stage, so is it just that you'll be looking at the top of actors' heads? They probably have to be horrifically obstructed to be only $149, right?
I've sat rear view of the Wilson before and you can see the whole stage. So if the existing stage is using that - which I think it since it has a lift - I'd think you'd be fine.

The SeatGeek code (SPRING2024) can also be used toward preordering drinks at Cabaret. Tempted.

It's possible. I personally wouldn't consider buying them until I see some kind of visual, like on 'Seatplan' or 'View from my seat'.

I have no issues with the Wilson- its like any other theater. This mockup looks like a redesign that is not geared towards traditional mezz seating (a Here Lies Love done to the extreme) but if im wrong, great-- for yet another cabaret, we thought the prices were comical, and these images confirmed as much. i do agree that the only thing about this production im really curious about is Gayle Rankin's take (i already know Skybell will break hearts).

Someone will have to explain to me how (1) photo, which is a very close, great view FROM the mezz, is supposed to have confirmed that the mezz is ****??
