Just got this in the mail today! Such a fun and great cd. I haven't listened to it all yet, but so far highlights include Joy to the World by Little Mermaid, It Was Simple Then by Spamalot, (At The) North Pole Global Warming Surfin' Party by Avenue Q, The 12 Days of Christ-Miz by Les Mis, and O Holy Night by Julia Murney and Max von Essen.
Ok, so it's a little early, but I'm in the Christmas spirit.
We should keep the joy of Christmas in our hearts all year round! I love Christmas, and I want this CD!
Mine just got here!!!

Mine just arrived as well. Can't wait to listen to it.
The MAMMA MIA song was written by a guy I went to school with (Dan Ponce) and was directed by another guy I went to school with (Steve Morgan). VERY cool.
I think the "Holy Night" by Julia and Max is also available for viewing on YouTube. Looked neat!

I got it after Hairspray this past Sunday.
The album sounds very good. Here are my faves:
Wicked - Jingle Bells (this one's really funny!)
Curtains - Monotone Angel and Deck The Halls (the latter as the cast of "Robbin' Hood", this shows us just how bad Jessica Cranshaw was)
Avenue Q - North Pole Global Warming Surfin' Party
A Chorus Line - Broadway Holiday
Spring Awakening - What Child Is This
Mary Poppins - Two English Carols (I love the arrangement with the vocals and brass quintet, they should definitely do this live sometime, maybe on the streets of Times Square)
Jersey Boys - Dominick the Donkey
Hairspray - Tracy Turnblad's Big, Bad Holiday Rap
Mine is in the mail as we speak (well, hopefully). I'm so excited. I love Broadway and I love Christmas, so I adore Carols for a Cure. I also have a cute little Broadway picture frame coming from BC/EFA! So excited. I've been looking for a Broadway picture frames with REAL shows on it for forever. Maybe next year they will have a shot glass.
ETA: My CD and picture frame just got dropped off! So excited!
Though I do wish certain people got to sing a bit more (Orfeh, anyone?) I'm really enjoying the CD this year, I LOVE Little Mermaid's Joy to the World.

I think "The Monotone Angel" is going to become one of my new favorite carols. I also adore Shuler Hensley's rendition of "O Come All Ye Faithful" as well as "Mary's Lullaby" (Wicked 1st National Tour) and "The Innkeeper's Lament" (Altar Boyz).
Though, I do cringe at the end of Jolly Old St. Nicholas/Up on the Housetop when the cast screams out "Merry GREASEmas."

Aw. It must be the time of the season where I have to sift through the giant stack of Christmas music I've never touched to find the one tolerable track on each CD so I can make a nice playlist for my mom like I meant to do last year when I acquired all those other Carols for a Cure CDs.
Run on sentences are cool.

Trust me, it isn't nearly as bad as the Les Miz cast harmonizing "Merry Christ-Miz" at the end of their song.
I adore Carols for a Cure! Haven't gotten the new one yet, but planning on it.
Last year's was amazing. I still love listening to December's Other Less Famous Holidays (Spelling Bee) and The Hanukkah Song (Wedding Singer).
My favorite tracks on these CDs are the ones where a cast does a traditional, or well-known, song in a style similar to their show. For example, I think the most outstanding track on the latest release is Spring Awakening's "What Child is This?"
just got one as early gift, LOVE IT =)
Accu Radio is featuring it on one of their Holiday sub-channels (New Holiday music) They are also donating a dollar for every new listener during the month of December. One of their charities is BCEFA. So go sign up and listen! It's free.
I am loving David Hyde Pierce and the Curtains crew singing the Monotone Angel! Coming in a close second is Kerry Butler doing Away in a Manger. Just beautiful!!

Unbelievably beautiful. Kudos to Jenny Hill (Spamalot) for an exquisite performance. And The guitar and mandolin playing is spectacular!

On "It was Simple Then," my friend Scott Kuney is on guitar and mandolin. He plays the guitar book in SPAMALOT (and doubles on banjo and uke).
