I always assumed that it would be a bonafide Equity production. Now, I've seen a couple of comments which suggests that the tour will be non Equity. Does anyone have any information about this?"
I believe it's the non-equity tour that got cancelled in 2020 due to COVID getting rescheduled."
Oh no. When I saw that "Chicago" was returning to Austin in November I (naively) assumed it was the regular Equity tour I've seen over many years. I've only see one non-Equity tour, A Chorus Line, here in Austin around 2009. I'm a union member American Federation of Teachers -- AFL-CIO. I'll have to think long and hard about seeing a non Equity show.
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
