OMG!!! There are four of them!!! I think I need them! I can get a Company Ticket a lot cheaper than $80, so I think I might be stopping by the box office tomorrow.
I've been burned too many times throughout the years in hoping for a full cast of past shows, but.... tonight 5/3 Tuesday, the entire cast was in! Here's hoping the same for you!
If anyone has git the new playbill, wondering how are they handling those four versions? One version at one performance? All of them available at one performance? :thinking
Randomly giving one of the four playbills to people and then locking them up like they’re gold. Ask for another one and you’re told “absolutely not”.
But about the show tonight - That was the best I’ve ever seen it. And I’ve seen it a lot. Every single person (full cast except u/s for Theo) seems to have up their game from the last time I saw it. I almost don’t ever want to go again in case they’re not at that energy level again.
And I’ve loved so much tracking Lenk from that original first preview in March 2020 to now. It’s been such a treat to watch an actress evolve so fully in a role that she now totally owns.

Kinda disappointing, but expected, especially after a few boxes of the opening night Playbills went missing. I still believe in myself getting all four without buying them from Playbill, but I know it won't be easy.
Normally if I want an extra, I can just find discarded ones. I'm sure people still leave them, but I'm guessing more people are looking and fewer people are leaving.
I heard a friend of a friend had success just standing outside and asking people for them. Might have to try that if I strike out at the show.
I liked this whole Patti interview yesterday, especially this:
What was it like knowing that your co-stars could be out with Covid-19 at any moment, that you could be out?
We had our understudies with us from the first day of rehearsal. And they are extremely well rehearsed. We had a moment where it really was who’s on first. There were more understudies onstage than there were principals. And they kept the lights on. They kept the show going forward. They are an extraordinary group of talented individuals who know their job. They’re just incredible. They deserve their own Tony Award. They really do. When I was out, I don’t know what happened. But I have really good covers. The thing is, do you embrace your responsibility? And these people did.
"The first time he got the call was for one performance in the role of Jamie. (Who does the show stopping favorite, Not Getting Married Today.) For the same performance, another lead had tested positive and Javier’s fellow understudy, Jacob went on opposite him; a fellow understudy and familiar face out there in the footlights. Javier has many glowing things to say about Katrina Lenk, who plays the lead of Bobby. “She came up to me and said what do you need?” She was welcoming and supportive and “lifts up her cast mates.”
They got together to run their scenes and had to rehearse in the mezzanine lobby as ushers rushed around getting the house ready. "
Britney Coleman was out most of last week due to testing positive. Kathryn Allison was out the week prior. Is there any left in this cast that hasn't tested positive yet?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

It must be a small number of cast members who haven’t tested positive at this point. The new covid surge is clearly taking down the last few. Ugh!!! Hopefully, no one is hit too hard.
I'm determined to take my mother to the show. I wonder if anyone can offer any insight on box office protocol.
I must admit, she's a little high maintenance. Half the gay men in the world know what this is like. There is a certain kind of mom a lot of us have!
She's also 70, and not always in the best physical condition to go into the city. Sometimes she's great! Other days, not so much. She hasn't seen a Broadway production since Hello, Dolly!
I really want to walk up to the box office and purchase obstructed view Orchestra. Having seen the show from there, I know we wouldn't miss anything important. The price is right.
The problem is what to do if my mother doesn't want to go in if I've pre-purchased tickets.
Does anyone have any experience with the box office? If I walked back in, would they possibly let me exchange for another date?
The last time I did this for a show was for August: Osage County. It's been quite a while!
Any insight here would be greatly appreciated. I'd really rather pre-book at the box office, save a few dollars on the transaction by doing so, and make sure I have the precise correct tickets.
My mother has seen so much great Broadway. The original Sweeney several times, Ain't Misbehavin', Ballroom, and so much with me as well, including LuPone in Sweeney and Gypsy, the latter two of which were with her best friend since high school, who insisted on taking us with him. He and my mom were Will and Grace in my life before Will and Grace. He loved Patti, and I credit him with spreading that love to me. He died a few years ago and we dearly miss him. She also revered Sondheim dearly, as I do. I called her sobbing the night he died and she completely understood. No one else in my life would have.
I don't mean to overshare. She just really has to see this show, on so many levels. I can put up with her criticizing every facet of my driving skills as we head into the city for a show as special as this one!

i got the young Sondheim one. After the show I tried to see if I can pick up someone’s left over. But it seems like all I saw were the same version .
Wondering did they start to give out ONE version at one performance. I know at least last week, diff versions were given out in a single performance?"
This is my understanding, that they are reserving certain ones for specific performances. I’m seeing the show tonight. I’ll try to grab a bunch. Maybe we can start an exchange program.

very curious to know which one they will give you tonight : )
I was there Saturday night, and all four were being distributed. The group in front of me was a party of four, and the usher made sure that they each got a different one.
