Thank you!! Sad to hear it though, it was beautiful!"
I was lucky to have that rain splashed all over me on January 26.
I was seated next to my emotionally repressed semi-significant other and his takeaway was “haha, glad I wasn’t the one who got rained on,” not that “Marry Me a Little” is filled with words that describe him perfectly - as are half the other songs in the show.

The talkback with Katrina, Patti, and Marianne was a lot of fun. Katrina was reverential to the other two ladies, didn't say that much - mainly because the moderator was trying various ways to discuss her vulnerability in playing Bobbi, which she wasn't having - while Patti and Marianne were really quite giving. Patti discussed at length about modern sound mixing in Broadway theatres, how flat and disconnected it can sound - AMEN! - and how she talks to the sound mixers to work and find the sweet spots where she's softest and loudest, so the audience can lean in instead of be pushed back by the sound. She also had great anecdotes about her husband and Stephen. Marianne really gave the most, discussing her process, her life, and a lot about the creative process with Stephen and the cast, and how they worked in previews, and then about coming back when Broadway reopened. I could watch a one-woman show just on Marianne! All in all, a great night."
Gah! That sounds fantastic. Those insights Patti and Marrianne gave sound fascinating. Bummed I couldn't make it.
Speaking of Marry Me a Little, the host mentioned how glad she was the song wasn't cut for this production. Patti gave Marianne a surprised face (as we did in the audience), and Marianne nodded to Patti like, "Yeah."
First I've heard of it, is there anything published that mentions that?

Patti has her moments, but to say she is horrible is simply wrong.
Why don't you watch this for reference:

LOL! Now run along and listen to your Be More Chill and Heathers playlists again.
Joanne doesn't need to be played by a strong singer. See Elaine Stitch who's still the best to ever perform the number. It's all about acting the sh!t out of that number and selling it to the audience.

Username checks out."
I like Patti plenty, but I think it's fair to say this is not a great performance. Curious for those who've seen it at the Jacobs, is this about what she's doing on stage every night?

It's not? Could've fooled me. I think it's a good representation of what she does on stage, and, unlike Katrina's recent late night performance of "Being Alive," it's likely to pique at least some interest in the show.

There is a full B-roll performance on all Company social media channels of Patti’s LWL live from the Jacobs. Check it out and decide for yourself.

Let's all simmer down, it's a damn talk show appearance. Basically acting out the role out of context. Even if it wasn't good, this automatically discounts her entire few years with this show?

Thanks for sharing the twitter link. Personally it feels much more melodic than the Late Show performance, which seems like it perhaps was on an off night.
Does anyone have the link to Katrina’s TV being alive? Can’t find it!

Isn't Katrina known to be rather shy off-stage? Some actors are introverted in real life.
I received an autographed photo from her today. Made my day. :)

I've been to the show three times. One thing I like about Patty LuPone is that every night is a little different. Sure, it's impressive when someone like Aaron Tveit sounds the same EVERY SINGLE TIME, but I find this more interesting and more personal. It shows her humanity. I saw her my last two times right after she came back from having Covid, and it was celebratory. She was ON and it was thrilling.

There was an incident at Company tonight. Just as the second act was about to start a gentleman stood up, took his mask down and started pointing and yelling at the people next to him, “these people called me a f—g—t!” Then his mother stood up and said, “these people called my son a f——t!” The audience began to show their disapproval and shouting things like “that’s not ok!”, booing and some demanding for them to be removed.
As the accused parties were asked to stand by security someone from the balcony yelled, “you can’t remove someone for saying that.” Then the audience started booing her. She then said, “it’s not personal, but you can’t just throw people out for using a a word.”
Security then asked the mother and son as well as the couple in question to leave and they were all escorted out. I assume the mother and son were removed for pulling down their masks and yelling or because they’d have to file a report.
It was very upsetting and you could tell the cast heard all of it because when the curtain rose they all looked shell shocked but quickly bounced back.
Weird times indeed.

Interesting. I really hate the times we’re living in, most of the time.
