Okay, sorry if this is a dumb question, but it was mentioned earlier that it would be illegal for ConFan to bring their video cameras in and record the show. Will they also be prohibited from using their cell phones to do "cellcerts" of the show? (because ConFan likes to do that as well!)

Cell phones and cameras are not only illegal, bringing these things in and having your phone one are both totally gauche and just poor theater etiquette.

I have been lurking for all 11 pages of this thread and I must say I have learned some interesting things. I enjoy theater and have been looking into taking in this show.

What effect this 'Idol' guy will have on it, if he indeed ends up in the show, remains to be seen. He MAY sell a few tickets, but in my opinion, I don't see a huge surge in sales.

He CAN a good actor when he applies himself; there is a lot of potential there. The problem is, he needs to be a bit more disciplined, especially if he is going to be taking on a Broadway role, which is a major responsibility for anyone. There are no retakes in live theater.

As for the "wannabe" groupies, perhaps if you took the time to learn more about the theater rather than displaying crass and inappropriate public behavior by spamming your "National Enquirer"-esque, trash tabloid sites most likely full of fabrications that NO ONE here really cares about, you wouldn't look so idiotic.

I was talking to a backstage crew member a few weeks ago who said that Matthew was extremely unapprochable, nasty, self centered, and a jerk to be around. I can't verify this, but hey, maybe that's a reason for "Bad Roger" to join the cast....

If they were expecting "Bad Roger" to be an improvement they're going to be disappointed. That sounds just like him.

BFM- I really don't think anyone here is interested in your experience with Constantine a year ago or any time ago. No one here ..as far as a can tell .. has an axe to grind with him. The people here are Broadway fans. If Constantine joins the show, his performance will decide whether anyone likes him in the show. I really don't understand what you are trying to do... what are you trying to accomplish? What is it that you want to happen as a result of your experience with Constantine a year ago? I don't understand that part. As far as the cameras, when you mention "confan" will do this, the way you do ...all I can say is you want to be a lawyer? Can you say ...objection ??

I'm seeing TWS tonight so I will try to keep my eyes and ears peeled to see if there is any truth to this rumor (from what I have heard so far it is pretty much confirmed, but still no definite announcement has been made so...)

You can't spend a year obsessing about a quick meaningless (at least for him) encounter and not look like a pathetic loser to everybody on the internet. Really. You're embarrassing yourself.

Newsflash. So are you. Some of these actors could care less about the fangirls/boys. They're nice to you so you'll fill seats at their shows and appearances, buy their crappy overpriced merchandise and so you'll have psycho flame wars over them on message boards and talk them up.

Okay, all I have to say for now is this:

People who dont like constantine, that is TOTALLY a okay and you're completely entitled to your opinion (which I do partially agree with by the way, I dont hate him, but I dont LOVE him any more either on account of he's a bit creepy as a person). However, please please PLEEAASE dont let this stop you from seeing the show. Seriously, at this point it needs ALL the attendence it can get. And I at LEAST dont want this move to HURT the show. Seriously, its a relitavely small part and I'd hope that everyone who doesn't like him could just kinda get over it and suck it up for the sake of the show if they want the show to stay. So.. yeah.. I'm simply begging everyone to go no matter what. Not saying anyone was really seeming like they wouldn't.. its just something I fear so I wanted to put that out there :) haha. HOPEFULLY it will be the opposite. hopefully this really will be a worthwhile move and all the constantine fans still out there from far and wide will come to the show and help it stay open longer.

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.

I agree with tmz814 this is way too immature of a place for me to post! At this point nothing is signed and even if it were you can't judge until it is finalized and you see him in the role. Anything before that is obviously directed hate towards a person who hasn't even stepped one foot on the stage!

I agree with the above; I would like to see him do well, but I will hold off my judgment until something is signed and we have true, reliable confirmation that he is doing this show.

If you like the guy, that is fine; if you don't like him, that is fine too. But trying to drag his name through the mud accomplishes nothing and makes people doing it look juvenile.

I would, however, be interested in tmz814's opinion of the show after it has been seen. Meanwhile, I am mostly on this site to read the day's headlines and audition notices.

OK... official count of people who signed up to this forum as of yesterday, 8/22/06: 23 - for the sole purpose of weighing in on the latest Constantine Maroulis buzz, either defending their Greek God, or lambasting him for being greasy...

well 24 if you count me, I signed up for the sole purpose of pointing this out - it is pretty funny, clique-y and highschool-ish...now with some more time, I can come back with the common denominators linking all the 23 names together...lol

Yes, I am just that bored... personally I have no opinion on the issue...I have enough on my plate to have room for obsessions...alright, back to lurkdom where i will continue to enjoy this thread's theatrics...

I believe Constantine as Sammy is now official. I imagine we'll be hearing about it tonight. My understanding is also that it will be a limited engagement of 6-8 weeks. Matthew Saldivar will be given a paid vacation and will be brought back once Constantine's stint is over. (hopefully the show will still be running)

The real Wedding Singer fans should look out though. What do you think the odds are of Laura coming back to the show? What do you think the odds are of the producers bumpng Tina up to full time Julia? Where do you see this going?

My understanding is that they are trying to stunt cast Julia, they're just having problems finding someone because they've already gone through a whole list of people and none of them have worked out yet. Names on that list included Mandy Moore, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Tiffany Amber Theissen (?!).

My understanding is also that it will be a limited engagement of 6-8 weeks. Matthew Saldivar will be given a paid vacation and will be brought back once Constantine's stint is over.

That's what I was thinking (and hoping) it would be.
