that little girl was SOOOO PISSED to be there!!!!!
Is he the one that was snapping and one point?
God, they should have left that little girl home and I'd take her place and be alert.
As soon as that man ceaselessly appeared in nearly every shot, I was waiting for this forum to have some hilrarity with it!
I didn't see waving arms man (will have to watch my tape again), but I DID see the bored little girl with her feet up on the seat, and she bugged me a lot.
I play the piano. Whenever I go see a show that I know the music to, I always find that I am "playing" the songs on my knee with my fingers...similar to what that person in the front row was doing. It's a habit I will never lose.
I noticed both the man and the little girl and both made me giggle
When I saw the guy dancing along to the first number, I thought he must have been the choreographer from that show, just having a good time and sharing the moment with his cast. Then, when he did the same thing for EVERY number, I realized he was just a very very very happy dork with a good seat.
Never noticed.
I was the man who was really into it. Whay are you all making fun of me?
points to screen name thingy
Haha! I saw the title to this thread and thought of that guy because he annoyed the crap out of me the entire show!
I definitely saw the girl. Although she was young, she should have been happy to be front and center at the Tony Awards. I guess not everyone feels so lucky! :)
He seemed really excited to be there.
I thought he was young 17-25 (yeah, 25 is young).
He wasn't out of control, but a bit overexaggerated for the jazzy part of Hernando's Hideaway, I thought. I just figured he was a big fan of the show and wanted to show it.
I didn't see the bored girl, but I TIVO'd it and will watch for her.

I was thinking along the lines of conductor until I saw the moves... the second thought that entered my mind was maybe they were special guests -- Make a Wish Foundation or something like that. Either way, maybe if they had put that guy on stage, the show might've been a little more interesting.. but thats just me

WOT, your piano playing is cute and only visible to those of us who are sitting next to you. This guy was distracting and annoying to millions, and I bet after awhile he was aware he was in that shot and milked it. I even think I saw nearly standing up at one inappropriate point of the broadcast. BTW, how does one get front row tix to the Tonys?! I think I might have to 'role that beautiful bean footage' to be sure.

I have the same piano playing problem. I'm always playing "Air Piano."

I thought I was the only one that did that. My friends think I'm crazy, because they have no idea what I'm doing :-P
And I kinda noticed the guy, but I just ignored it. It was pretty funny though. Annoying, but funny.
I find myself playing air cello and air guitar (not the normal kind, just chords) frequently on the bus.
exactly noone ever knows what your doing with your fingers....but Im just playing the piano ... lol
I really wish I had seen the stuck up girl.

I just re-watched the Wedding Singer performance, that guy was hilarious!
Contrary to what many people say, the music on the Tonys is LIVE. In several Tony telecasts, they have opened the back scrim to show teh orchestras. Example, in 2004, you can clearly see the band for WONDERFUL TOWN and you can almost see the whole orchestra for a second when Idina flies up.
But they are there...in the back, no less. Who do you think cuts the winners off?
