The marquee looks awful. But Im excited for this show and Amy Spanger's return to Broadway!
"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".

I really don't like the marquee, but I'm sure it will look better lit up and with pictures by the theater.
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&.
"Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."
The Broadway cast is a little different, from the off-broadway cast. The guy that played Stacii Jaxx on off Broadway Will Swenson, is in Hair now. And Kelli the original Sherri did not transfer over from off Broadway. Why? I have no clue. And why do we want to see it over and over. It is a fun musical especially if you like or grew up in that scene. It brings back good memories. And did I mention the best thing of all Constantine plays the lead charcter in it. Thank you Blue and Lea for kicking this back to the top page...
It is nice to have a place on BWW to *positively* talk about the show (and yes, I've been lurking somewhat lately as I know the unruly anti-shill mobs are out with torches and pitchforks LOL).
(By the way, the above statement is not a direct commentary on ANY INDIVIDUAL POSTER ON BWW so please do not take it as an invitation to go all snarkalicious here on the LOVE thread. Ya'll have several threads of your own to have hissyfits about a show that some of us here actually really adore.)
I've seen the show several times in its current home at the Brooks Atkinson and it is amazing to watch the show as it changes with each day, getting closer to its final "frozen" state. Not everything (or everyone) transferred to the new production, but there has been exponential growth...from the choreography to the costumes, from the vocal performances to the sets and props.
The semi-official fan site that I help to run, "The Cry of the Strip" is also growing, adding a message board ("The Bourbon Room") and a Twitter feed (www.twitter.com/tcots). I look forward to seeing more supporters of the show over there as the show opens.
Rock on, everyone...and I'll see all ya'll in the Bourbon Room!
Lizzy you better be there for the testimonals. I was hoping they would up date that. I plan to come back to see it, but it will have to wait after my trip to Florida next month. Lea
I made my first ever trip to NYC last weekend. I had already gotten my ticket to Wicked for the Saturday matinee. Then I decided to find a show to see that night. My sister was on the phone trying to give me some advice. I saw something called "Rock of Ages" in a Playbill ad and they had it listed as being discounted at TKTS and some guy came around with flyers for it while I was in line, so I decided to go that night and see it (plus August Osage County was too long for me after a long day). TKTS had partial view for 50 something, so I went to the box office and got 2nd row for a good price. I had SUCH a wonderful time. The songs and show were a blast. The audience had fun, the performers had fun, by the end, everyone was singing along and singing aloud. Amy and Constantine came outside after to sign autographs and pose for pictures. I'm still telling everyone about the show, even those that won't be anywhere near New York haha. I grew up in the 80s and knew almost all the songs (wasn't a Styx fan) and they wove them in the show well. I mean, they made High Enough relevant. I want to go back soon!
After was almost as fun thanks to me, the guitar pick thrown into the audience, and a very lovely lady's 50th birthday which she was celebrating at ROA with her friends.
I hope to go back to NYC sometime soon. I want to see ROA again. Maybe see 9 to 5 as well. I'm spoiled by good seats though. Even my Wicked seats were good. But, I had to pay full price for them. Cheap as I am, I'm surprised I did it! haha
