She actually performed a whole step LOWER than Barbara Cook did at the 1985 concert.
Have none of us ventured into the mess that was Loveland and that poor, poor man who needed cue cards? I actually had to bury my face in the program out of second-hand mortification.

I may be misremembering, but I don’t recall the violins being transposed that high for Barbara. As in, whoever did the transpositions for the two different performances might have put the violins in a different octave. There is indeed a range limit for instruments.
I haven't seen anyone mention this. Is Alexander Gemignani ok? From my vantage, I could see that he fell offstage after performing The Road You Didn't Take. I thought it was a comedy flop like "thank god that's over" or something. But then he didn't come out for the bows at the end. Did anyone else notice that or know anything?
Christine Ebersole's In Buddy's Eyes was fine, but she flubbed a lyric. She sang "can't get older" during the first refrain instead of "don't get older."

In my mind Audra or Kelli needed to be the next Sally, I didn't think that of course perhaps it should be Ebersole!!
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
Ebersole is in her 70's now. I'm tired of the old Sallys, at this point. Bernadette didn't look her age at all, but Staunton certainly did. The character is very specifically 49-years-old. While I think Audra would be phenomenal, my gut says the next big revival is being saved/planned for Kelli, and likely at LCT.

No. The next Broadway revival (in about 10 years) will star Jeremy Jordan, Sutton Foster Annaleigh Ashford and Corbin Bleu. (if Sutton still looks a decade Younger than her age.) I may replace Jeremy with Aaron Tveit...but I insist on actual dancers for Phyllis and Buddy.

Annaleigh Ashford singing Follies - what a disastrous choice

OMG. Kate is brilliant. Cook and Sondheim would be proud. I couldn’t get a Carnegie Hall Follies ticket but very happy I have a ticket to hear her in Connecticut on 6/30. I hope she does Losing My Mind. I’m also delightfully looking forward to her renditions of It’s Not About Me and The Lady’s Improving as part of The Prom at the Sharon Playhouse next month. Should be a hoot.

Would love to see Jessie Mueller as Sally. Phenomenal actress who can sing anything, incredible range.
I know this sounds like ridiculous fan fiction but I would not be too surprised if we see a bartlett sher follies at LCT with Kelli and Laura Benanti in the next few years. Would not be surprised to see Patti as Carlotta and Bernadette as Hattie. Or even Danny B reprise as Buddy. Raul Esparza Ben.
