What was your favorite moment from the Tonys last night, for me it was either the performace from The Color Purple or Threepenny Opera
There wasn't much that I found that great (horrible year), but I thought the Jersey Boys number was good. My favorite part out of it all was the Chorus Line commercial.

When:
-LaChanze won
-The Color Purple performance
-Paul Rudd. Isn't that a bit sad that my favorite part about the Tonys was a presenter who was on for one minute?

Jersey Boys performance, I don't know why, but for some reason that was the highlight.

I really, really enjoyed the performance from THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. It was fun, upbeat, Sutton was amazing as always, and it made me really want to see the show!
And I'm STILL wondering how she got changed SO quickly when the big umbrella went in front of her...talk about quick changes!
Jersey Boys was definitely the best performance of the evening, yes.

Stephen Lynch looking so happy while performing. It was so cute, he looked just too happy to be there!

When Young and Hoff made their speeches.
I wanted to cry, Hoff made a shoutout to his baby! That was adorable.
Hank Azaria and Oliver Platt
Patti's face when they panned to her. It looked to me like a "screw you all" face. I loved it.
Rudd was hilarious. That was a nice little change from the subtle evening thus far.
I'm biased but I thought the Threepenny performance was good - a bit watered down for tv - but still worthy :) And The Wedding Singer - I haven't seen it but it was really intriguing to me from that little part - it was so energetic and Lynch and one of my favs, Cahoon, looked like they were having a brilliant time!
And how does Sutton do that 2 second costume change behind the umbrella?!

I loved the Drowsy Chaperone and Sweeney Todd performances.
Seeing Beth Leavel win was also great.

The Wedding Singer and Jersey Boys performances.
Christian and JLY's speeches.
LaChanze's stunned look at the audience when she was on stage.
Tough this year, so most of mine are small moments that you might have missed if you blinked:
The very end of The Color Purple presentation when the camera catches Elisabeth Withers-Mendes raising her arms up as if to set the music free. She was totally feelin' that moment.
Sutton Foster giving the #1 sign just as she hits her slits in the DC performance. That performance rocked.
The perfect clip of Jennifer Holiday singing And I'm Tellin' You... That Face at the end knocks me out everytime.
John Lloyd Young getting caught by his emotions during his speech...very touching. I can only imagine the story behind that relationship. His father must have been blown away.
Patricia Neal's face when suprised w/a replacement Tony. Amazing.
The Look on Oprah's Face as the "Stars" rose out of the stage floor. She smiles then looks over at Julia Roberts who is managing a smile. I think the lift must have shaken one or both of them :)
The camera catching Patti LuPone dancing to Connick's opening number. The rest of the group was pretty stoic, but she rocked out and the camera caught it.
Audra McDonald having a moment with Sara Ramirez during the opening number... oh to have a live mic on them.
Interesting year. :)

The look on the faces of Christian Hoff and LaChanze when they were announced winners!! Priceless!!
The Wedding Singer's performance (suprisingly), LaChanze's win, and the Dreamgirls commercial.
Honorable mention to The Pajama Game and The Drowsy Chaperone's performances.

Hal Price's tribute kind of made me tear up. PHANTOM OF THE OPERA was my first show. *TEAR*
Anyway, I'm glad to see THIS thread. FINALLY, someone started a POSITIVE Tonys thread! WOO-HOO! There IS good in the world!
Favorite moments:
Cyndi and Alan being sexy in THREEPENNY
LaChanze being genuinely surprised and happy in her acceptance speech
Christine Ebersole's puppet joke (I usually don't care for her, but last night changed all that)
John Lloyd Young/Christian Hoff - 'nough said
JULIE ANDREWS (but her dress was less-than-good - not that I focused on it too much)
JERSEY BOYS and WEDDING SINGER performances - so much energy there!
There are others. It was a good year. And the first time I ever went to a "Tony Party" (I usually watch it alone or with one or two family members, if they care to join me). It's good to have other people around when you're literally hooting and hollering at the TV. It made me feel less dumb.
And on that note...

"The perfect clip of Jennifer Holiday singing And I'm Tellin' You... That Face at the end knocks me out everytime."
Is this referring to the brief clip of a large black woman holding out a note till her eyes almost popped out and then taking a very loud breath before the last 'me'?
Sorry if that's a naive question, but I don't know what Jennifer Holiday looks like--if that's not her, who was that and what show? I loved it!

The Wedding Singer performance, and the Dreamgirls trailer (I think I've re-watched this more than anything else).
I guess I was the only one who didn't enjoy the Jersey Boys performance... I guess it just wasn't my kind of music.
Also it looked the the umbrella in the DC performance had some kind of pouch in it, so I assume the the dress was designed to be taken off easily and slipped into the pouch in the umbrella.
When TR Knight came on with Sara Ramirez to present the award for best featured actress in a musical. And when the credits started rolling cos other than that it was a dismal show.
