In order:
#1: Rags...a great score IMO, not just a favorite.
#2. Bells Are Ringing...I must admit that I have eliminated several songs from play list, e.g., The Midas Touch, but the ones left are more than sufficient to make a great cast album, and Judy Holliday's songs give sizable evidence as to why she won the Tony that year.
#3. Gigi...the one a few years ago. I must still play this more than than any other show. Just love it, although I know that is not a widely shared opinion. (I did see the 1973 production, so this may not answer the subject

The original London cast recording of "Top Hat". Oh, how I wish I had seen this show! But, I have the music on my MP3 Player, and I listen to it often on my daily walk. Here's the Overture.

Two by Two.
When I was young, I'm sure my list would have been pretty long, but this is the only one I can think of!

Have never heard of Venice. Will have to look into it.
Chess used to be on this list, but have seen it 3 times in the last 4 yrs. All completely different shows, with different plots, different song order.
Bridges of Madison County is definite a favorite to listen to, but was very disappointed by the national tour production, just a snooze.
Have to get Far From Heaven back in my rotation.
Wow! Lord of the Rings. Can't say that is near the top to listen to. Saw it in Toronto next to last performance, before it moved to London. By far the most amazing set and costumes I have ever seen. Nothing has even come close.
Shenandoah should be performed more!
Had a chance to see Floyd Collins, but it got away...
Just saw a brilliant production of Bright Star. My wife had not heard it or knew much about it before I took her. She was blown away by the small professional theater cast. A good tear jerker.
I like Dogfight, have seen a college production and the theater that did Bright Star do it a few years back. Very good show, but not near the top.
Having see Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, I am satisfied to let it stay brilliantly on CD.

Oh, yes Rags! When will that be done near me? 14 years and counting... EDIT: It appears that this has been taken out of licensing. Is it being reworked for another Broadway run? The Magic Show has also been removed from licensing.
Bells are Ringing is a wonderful show, should be done more...
Gigi. Only the movie... ![]()
