Why on earth is Ellen’s on there? That place is gross

Carnegie Diner on 50th Street and 8th Avenue packs them in. Nice modern venue across from Wicked.

I've warmed up to that place very quickly. Delicious food, and they have very efficient service, especially when they know you've got a show to see.

I have a soft spot for Shake shack but it’s too crowded so I don’t go there especially late night. I went to The View once years ago in its past iteration. I guess people are liking this new one
Dear Melissa Kravitz Hoeffner,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making a "where to eat" list for the tourists. This is a perfect little roundup of places to make them feel a little adventurous without spoiling all the places that real New Yorkers will go after a show. For a second I was worried you would spoil our secret spots and have them become overrun. But this is perfect.
Walk West to Hell's Kitchen for a better selection of options.

I will be saving this list just to make sure I don't ever accidentally stumble upon one of these spots after a show (not that I ever would anyway, but can never be too cautious!)

100%
Such a love letter to tourists. Thank you for telling them where to go, locals deeply appreciate it 💋
Last Fall after seeing Sunset I had dinner at Nizza on 9th between 44th & 45th. It was a Thursday, and they only do their lasagna on Thursdays, it was one of the best I've had anywhere. Google says Wed - Sat they are open until 11.
Later that week after DBH on Saturday I went to a nice sit down Mexican place where I had excellent fajitas, but I'm not sure what is was called. I'm pretty sure it was close to the Lunt-Fontaine.

Not the theater district but Tatiana at Lincoln center is fab. If you can get a reservation, go
After watching Pirates this year, we ate at Los Tacos No 1 afterwards. So good!

Obviously, you're not talking about Stardust.

Of all the great restaurants in NYC, mind boggling, she put "Ellen's" on the list. IMO Sardi's is not as good as used to be.

Forbes now sells access. For a few thousand you can buy space on Forbes website.
My first few visits to NYC as a teenager, you couldn’t have stopped me from going to Ellen’s for dessert after a show at least once during my visit. I can’t say it’s on my list when I have friends ask where they should go, but Ellen’s Stardust Diner sure has a ton of nostalgia for this high school theater kid - like when the cast of the high school play goes out to the local restaurant after a rehearsal and sings along to the show music. Haha - annoying, but nostalgic. I still go maybe once every five years for old times sake.

We love them more and more now that they are arriving in smaller and smaller numbers.

Here in California, we welcome visitors to our beautiful State. We embrace visitors and are happy and eager to share the best our cities have to offer our friends from other locales. Comments like those above and others in this thread do nothing to improve NYC's negative image.

I wasn't being clear. We do love them more and more because there are fewer of them and we need them.
