YES CAROLINE B!!!!!

The little Caroline as Anna is absolutely adorable. She seems perfect. Thrilled they hired both a newcomer and a young girl as Anna.

Caroline Bowman is going to sing the sh*t out of this.

It’s interesting that they announced the New Anna and Elsa first. The two Carolines could do pretty well...

I wonder what they will do with the supporting cast. I hope they keep the idea of a female Olaf and a POC Kristoff- they will need to keep the diverse casting of the Broadway version...

^^ Why WOULDN'T they announce the Anna and Elsa first? They're the literal leads, of course they'll be announced first.

Disneybroadwayfan-I wouldn't call Caroline I a newcomer, she has quite the resume on her, but she certainly is a fresher face, and that's fine. AND she actually reads the proper age Frozen Tour

I felt it was odd because the Broadway version announced all 6 leads at the same time - however, Anna and Elsa are the main reason why people see this show. Caroline Bowman is a good choice - she has the experience and authority required for Elsa, but is not as inappropriately old as Caissie Levy, whilst Caroline I seems to be in her twenties, with is the perfect age for playing Anna (like Patti Murin, she also played Ariel on stage)...

I am still interested to know who will get the supporting roles, and would like to reiterate my hope that we keep the female Olaf and POC Kristoff...

Dont worry Kristof will be a person of colour as the audition notice that went out said only ethnic people of colour apply.

Which seems odd as his colour is not part of the story that seems very odd with colourblind casting rules. And god knows thered be an uproar if the said for elsa only fair skin actors apply.

I just hope if they go with a woman Olaf shes better than the train wreck currently at the St James. She needs lessons on how to puppeteer.

I feel they need to specify a POC Kristoff because he is probably the only character whose race can be changed. Olaf is a Snowman, Sven’s performer is hidden in a reindeer puppet, and making Hans or Weselton POCs would be horrifically racist because you’re casting black actors as scheming, murderous foreigners...

There’s something really f***ked in that statement, but I totally get what you’re saying. Race in casting is such a heated argument.

It’s accurate — a person of color playing the villain, especially with a predominantly white cast, is completely taboo now.

I’ll need to pull out my old Little House program to see if I’ve seen Caroline I. perform already.

I’m curious to hear about the rest of the cast. I definitely want to see this with the tour cast. I’ve always thought Zach Adkins would make a great Kristoff but sounds like that’s not likely.

Looks like the 2 Carolines, Jelani Aladdin and Andrew Pirozzi performed some songs at Pantages tonight per a tweet from the theater. Hoping some video will pop up.

Zach would make a better Hans. He really wouldn’t be terrible...

I’m not a fan of Caroline Bowman. I may have seen her on an off night when I saw her in Wicked but she sounded awful. I would honestly rank it up as one of the worst Broadway performances I’ve seen.

I know you can't really compare since one is a leading role and one is supporting? but she always sounded awesome when I saw her as Nicola in Kinky Boots!

I feel like the issue isn’t “POC playing the villains”, it’s with POC playing a certain type of villain. Hans and Weselton are very flat, stereotyped baddies whose primary purpose is to embody female fears and anxieties (it really doesn’t help that both characters are foreigners, with Hans’ main motive being the fact he is ignored in his own kingdom). In addition, there are other Broadway villains (particularly sexually predatory or abusive ones such as Stuckey from Pretty Woman or Earl from Waitress) where casting black actors would just perpetuate incredibly offensive stereotypes. There are obvious exceptions to the argument that “black men shouldn’t play Broadway villains” (particularly in plays and musicals centred on POC’s, such as Tina) but black men playing awful men in primarily white feminist fantasies  is a no-no with good reason...

She sounds fine, but it does feel like a character voice to me and she was clearly a little nervous.  She's got the ability to knock this out vocally and probably will once she's comfortable on the road.

Her Eva was superb.  She sat on her voice a lot during that tour, but in the instances where she really let go, she could sing the living **** out of Evita.

No.

That's not really an excuse for a seasoned performer who's led a Broadway tour of Evita and has a long resume of belty shows under her belt.

And at this point, she's rehearsed it hundreds of times already.  It should be in her blood already.

She’s also a human being and is allowed to get nervous... I think she sounds amazing. Was just responding to your “she sounded nervous” line... like gee... maybe she was?

I was wondering about how much preparation she had for that Chicago performance because I thought I read that rehearsals start next month? I'm pretty sure she posted that on Instagram Stories a couple weeks ago and I haven't seen any rehearsal posts yet either. She does sound a bit different from Caissie but nothing I can't get used to. I thought she sounded great overall and did seem a bit nervous.

Also, her husband Austin Colby ends his Jersey Boys run on Sunday which is surprising since he was there less than a year. Maybe he is joining the Frozen tour after all.

If you go to the Proctors geo-location on Instagram. There is a public story showing the preshow curtain. Actually has the Arendelle city/castle on it and the title.

Intersting change... I can't say that I am a fan of the "flattened" proscenium, though.
