not surprised.
Show’s Instagram, and newly published Michael Paulson NYT article.
Why such a sudden shift to close right in the middle of the summer? They couldn't edge out a few more weeks before attendance takes its Fall dip before the Holidays?

Because advance sales were virtually non existent. They’re cutting their losses.
I believe there’s a possible extension to Labor Day if sales warrant it but that’s unlikely.
I hope Lesli Margherita goes in to replace Jenn Simard in Death Becomes Her

People can try to convince themselves otherwise all they want to, but there was not widespread positive word of mouth for this production. That will always be what determines if a show stays or goes.
Not surprised either. Let’s let Gypsy rest for a few decades. Please!
Audra was amazing, but this production was just very mid. Sad it didn't recoup but not surprised.
Tickets for the final show skyrocketed but code GIMMICK brought my row B front mezzanine tickets to $66. Get them before the code gets pulled!

Well whatever show decides to go in next let’s hope it’s not produced by Scott Rudin
Patti Lupone was just told the news by her husband. She stared at him for 15 seconds. Then she looked toward the window and said, 'Isn't this a beautiful day ?'

I loved this production but the numbers and the numbers.
This show has lost money almost every week. Will lose entire investment

I am mildly surprised the code still works for the last day. Very inexpensive tickets are available at the moment for the final performance.

This show was a major letdown for me. Big missed opportunity.

Hopefully Joy ends up in a show real soon. I don’t think the show showcased her talent

Doesn't look like code GIMMICK works any longer for the final performance.
Well that is THAT. Can we give this show a rest now, shall we?

I see. They moved quickly. Congrats to those who snagged cheap tickets.
This revival lasted just about as long as the recent COMPANY did (265 reg. perfs). 8-9 months is about fairly standard for these “prestige” productions nowadays — they start slipping at the box office after 10-12 solid weeks, give or take.
It should be interesting to see what takes the Majestic (the second-largest Shubert house by seating capacity) next…seems cavernous for plays.
