This was posted today on PS Classics Website:
... As many know, the authors made significant changes to the show en route to Broadway, and the cast went into the studio on February 13th to preserve those changes. As the cast has changed since last spring, they re-recorded a large chunk of the other numbers as well. We’re proud to be unveiling the Original Broadway Cast Recording of GREY GARDENS later this month; there’s no official “street date,” as stores will simply begin stocking the new CD once supplies of the old CD run out. (And the old CD will indeed go out of print, so if you want it and don’t yet own it, buy it now!) But we will be having an official “launch” here at PS Classics, and we’re looking for websales to begin on March 27th. (If we’re delayed a day or two, as sometimes happens, we’ll certainly update that info here.) Stores will begin stocking it in the weeks following. (Note: it's not available anywhere for pre-order.) The new CD features an all-new 32-page color booklet, with all-new photos.

I'm still confused. Is it a whole new recording (like the offical website advertizes), or is it the off broadway recording with new material?

Either way, it's mine! Yessssss.
From what I understand, the only songs that remain the same are the ones that did not feature Sara Gettelfinger at all in the off-Broadway cast recording. So I can imagine Act II songs like "The House We Live In," "Choose to Be Happy," and "Entering Grey Gardens" were re-recorded as well as the obvious numbers like "Daddy's Girl," "Going Places," "Marry Well," and "Mother Darling."
What about the songs that featured Audrey Twitchell, which on Broadway feature Kelsey Fowler? Have those been dubbed or re-recorded?
"The Five-Fifteen" (as Lee Bouvier)
"Hominy Grits" (as Lee Bouvier)
"The Five-Fifteen" Reprise (as Lee Bouvier)
"The House We Live In" (as part of the company)
"Choose To Be Happy" (as part of the company)
Interesting point Wanna Be. Either way, I'll be purchasing it.
I have the off-Broadway recording on my computer (which I got at a really cheap price, otherwise I would have just bought the CD), but I'm probably going to buy the CD sometime before it goes out-of-print.
Where is Sara Gettlefinger these days?

I totally agree with Gypsy! I can't wait for it to come out!
The old recording, stripped of both Sara Gettelfinger & Audrey Twitchell's vocals (replaced by Erin Davies and Kelsey Fowler), and the songs that were cut between it's off-Broadway and Broadway opening. The new songs were recorded, and have been folded into the existing recording to create a definitive version of the show (which is why the off-Broadway cast album is going out of print). It has been repackaged with the Broadway logo and a new booklet. And there aren't many copies of the off-Broadway recording left, so get them now!
I'm so excited. Now I can finally listen to all of ACT I, which I was previously unable to get through due to one Ms. Sarah G. Ugh, don't even get me started. Like nails on a chalkboard. I don't get her one bit. Also glad to have the Broadway Logo included.
The prospect of a new booklet with all-new photos excites me tremendously.
Ahh, thanks for the info, Robbie. I'm very excited for this recording!

I'm just glad they got a new cover. That old one was hard on the eyes. A part of me wants to buy the off-B'way just nostaliga's sake, but I know I'd never listen to it. Hm...
Have you seen the new cover? What does it look like.

I wasnt' sure I wanted the CD of this show, but I guess if there's a new recording of it, I must.

I thought the orchestrations had changed as well when they moved to Broadway.
I hope this doesn't sound noticeably cobbled together.
I'm pretty poor, so I usually don't get cast recordings AS SOON as they come out, so I am thankful I got the off-broadway Grey Gardens for Christmas!

I'm so glad a new recording is coming out! And this cover is definitely much better, not that that really matters to the music.

Bobbybubby-so true! I loved the broadway cast and when I purchased the recording, I found myself unable to listen to most of Act 1. Now I can enjoy the entire show!
Maybe I'll buy a few extra copies of the Off-Broadway recording. In a few years they might be worth something on ebay. The new cover looks tremendous. I can't wait. :)
