Fantastic! I loved it at NYTW and I can't wait to see how they've worked on it.
Looks like this will be Tootsie v. Hadestown at the Tonys.

Great to hear. Also wondering about Girl from the North Country too. Been holding off on buying a Stubhub ticket because TodayTix seems hit or miss.

I can't help but wonder how other producers that made the call to come in this season think when they see a breaking news like this. I mean some of them will be fine without the Tony, cuz this is winning, but then you got to wonder if the crew over at something like Be More Chill is sitting there thinking, "Well f**k me.” Because they are about to be totally overshadowed by this one.

Wonderful news! It broke my heart that I couldn't afford to get to London to see it. I'll definitely in the NYC the last week of March to take this in!

Be More Chill was already an underdog with an uphill climb.

As we've seen in recent seasons, multiple shows can succeed at once. And the future is entirely unknown –– the next HAMILTON could open in the 19-20 season, and then anything that waited for less competition would be in an even worse place. Broadway is an ecosystem! I still think the Tony race is wide-open in all categories.

Anyone who thinks it is going to be getting any Tonys in its current form is kidding themselves.
Unless Chavkin gets her finger out and actually starts directing her cast to 'do something', she'll be **** out of luck a 2nd time around.
I hope they've also got a new male lead sorted out, this one is like watching paint dry.

I'm excited to see some real competition now for the Tonys.
Speaking of supposed frontrunner Tootsie...did Tootsie forget they were coming to Broadway? Last time they posted on socials was mid-October, for chrissakes. Do we have any idea how sales are going?

What I meant was some shows are still going to be just fine, yeah as you said the underdogs that were already on the bottom of the ladder have to be a bit worried now. Like... wow is the only underdog here Be More Chilled? Tootise, Beetlejuice, and Pretty Woman are all gonna be fine on name recognition alone. Cher Show has the lovers of Cher and jukebox genre lovers pretty much to itself. Be More Chilled was already the odd ball out and with Hadestown coming in now (you can't deny even if it doesn't win it gonna be a massive nomination getter) is now going to push Be More Chilled down even further. It's at the point that as long as Tootsie comes in as strong as it's expected, critics surprising us all and love the heck out of Cher Show, and if Beetlejuice makes some tweeks from the tryout, Be More Chilled is likely on the bubble spot for a Best Musical Nomination if not already on the outside looking in. It really DIDN'T need a highly anticipated already critical and audience darling of a show coming in to the same season to steal what little thunder it already had away.
