Oh god, sorry for the double-reply, but I recently rediscovered this video: https://www.instagram.com/tv/B_LeAJIDLGB/?igshid=eh4ecp1xojrs At 11:58, YaYa Reich (who had not officially been announced as a cast member at the time due to the lockdown), says she was rehearsing music and AG came up into the room - "It's Amber. I heard someone was singing my song." I wonder if this means anything. I've only seen YaYa as a Fate/Worker, and that's all she's listed as, and of course it's possible she was rehearsing a Fate/Worker line in a song that Persephone sings (ie the ensemble parts of Living It Up On Top), but I do wonder if YaYa was originally supposed to be another Persephone understudy, or even the alternate? Again, just like my last reply, this is all conspiracy, and it probably just means that YaYa was singing an ensemble part of a Persephone song - or hell, maybe she was even just singing Persephone lines for fun.
But it does, again, make me curious. Is there any indication that they were ever slotted to play Persephone in any capacity, or am I just grasping at straws and misinterpreting what they say in the video? Tbh, I've never heard YaYa sing solo so I'm unsure if they even have the range for it but I know they've played different Fate and Worker roles.
*EDITED TO ADD*: that is an old video that was made prior to the reopening!
Couple of questions for those who might know - any idea how cast attendance might be the week between Christmas and New Year's? Got my mother tickets for the Wednesday evening performance Dec. 29th (we were scheduled to see the tour in Boston, but had to give up our tickets as we had a death in the family). I've seen the show twice before (once with OBC and once with OBC minus Patrick) and both times were wonderful, so I know it'll be a good time regardless of who is on.
Also - who is currently understudying Eva, and has anyone seen them/can give insight? I noticed she is apparently scheduled to be out on my trip in January (the 21st).
When I saw the show Christmas week in 2019 no understudies were in. But the cast has changed so much since then so it’s like seeing the show for the first time again.
For the Eurydice understudies, I’ve only seen Jessie Shelton and she was amazing. Other than Khaila, now sure who else is an Eurydice understudy with all the new people!
There’s a casting call out for a temporary Orpheus replacement for the month of January, so either Reeve will be out or he is leaving at the beginning of January and the real replacement can’t start that early?
God I hope Damon Daunno is somewhere in the equation. I'd throw my credit card so fast to see him in this version of the show...especially paired with Eva.
The website has him as aconfirmed gueston Feb 23 - 24 for JIBLAND5 and Feb 25 to 27 for JIBII.
I wonder if this plays into the above posting."
Seeing as the temporary replacement posting is for the month of January and that convention is not in January, I can’t imagine they are correlated."
Can you post a link to casting call?
I know the event is in February. And the casting call is January. My point being is if he’s out all of January, and has an event in February, why would he return for 3 weeks then leave another week? Why not just be out until March after the event ends?
Wow that escalated quickly!!! We went from who is Trent Saunders to principal debut in about a week! Hopefully someone is there tonight to report back!
It means either Reeve is leaving in January and they have someone else coming in February who can’t start sooner, or Reeve is just away for the month of January (but they don’t want to just let the understudies split the time while he’s away? I’m not sure how that all works but it seems like it would make more sense than bringing in a new person for the month).
I've seen the OBC in previews and then saw last night's (Tuesday 11/16) show, which was full of wonderful swaps- T.O as Hermes- I LOVED him- harkened back vocally to the og live recording and he was a less sarcastic and a bit kinder Hermes. Lana Gordon as Persephone sounded great- played it less surly than Amber Gray but with all the same energy. Khaila Wilcoxon was a fine Eurydice, but my absolute favorite was Trent Saunders as Orpheus- his performance was much more irreverent and self aware, which is important for this particular part because I think that it's easy for Orpheus as written to come across as slightly wimpy, and make their love story less believable. Trent's Wait for Me was even more staggering to me last night then seeing it staged for the first time with Reeve Carney.
In general, the men dominated in this mix but everything coalesced perfectly anyway.
Love love love T’s Hermes. Wow- what a night last night though!! Khaila, Lana, T, Trent!! All principals!! I wonder though why everyone was out the same night?!

Reeve and Eva were at the House of Gucci premiere.

What are the chances of catching a performance with all principals in early December? Does anyone recommend a particular date? I have family staying with me who specifically want to see Amber Gray, who they missed last time, and I’ve never caught the entire principal cast together believe it or not. Also, does anyone happen to know how Amber Gray splits performances with Lana Gordon (who is so wonderful also obviously!)? Somehow we’ve graduated from just seeing shows to planning to see specific performers (as best as we can anyway!)
