After thinking about this, it makes sense that this won't take effect until January. They don't really have the room to add 25 lotto tickets right now, right? Those seats are all already sold.
Feeling much better now. Chancing the cancellation line this weekend for tickets on Saturday. Thanks for the response!

Yeah, once someone pointed it out, that made sense. Good luck with the line!

Someone who did the line recently said she/he waited 48 hours. I just read another report who started to wait in the line Tues night and didn't get in Wed (yesterday) and has been waiting for tonight's (Thurs) show. So even two shows day, it's not guaranteed to be able to get in if you start the night before. It could change after July 9th or whenever Lin leaves. Many people want to see him before he leaves.
Ok, im getting pretty desperate so im gonna ask here. Im planning to do the cancellation line next week and am looking for someone to buddy up with. Im flying in from the UK to try and see the show again (saw it in March with a SRO ticket) but i want to make the most of my trip so i am looking for someone to stand in line for me while i go and see a couple of other shows. It would be best if it was someone who was either planning to do the line anyway so that we are both there for quite a lot of the time or someone who lives near by that can establish a place in line as i understand there is a no switching rule, though it would only be for a couple of hours each night and we would both be seeing the show. Please pm me if you can help as im desperate to see Hamilton again (hopefully from a seat this time!) but dont want to waste too much of my trip. Thanks!

Nope, no guarantee of SRO tickets. They are saved as both lottery tickets on some nights as well as the tickets that cast and crew can give to friends and family.
My partner and I are willing to purchase standard tickets plus some swag for anyone willing to let us be their plus ones for any shows from today (Fri) thru the Sunday matinee. Message me if you're interested. We'd be happy to partner with 2 singles as well, or even if just one of us can go, we'll take that!

Ham4Prez posted a couple pages back their suggestions, which I have saved for reference-
"ham4prez said: "We highly suggest you bring some kind of mat/pillow to sit on since chairs are no longer allowed (side note – there were one or two people on line who pulled chairs out and used them and they were only reprimanded by the theater once as far as I can tell. I really think the enforcement of that rule depends on the RTT staff who happens to be in charge that day). We also suggest snacks, bug spray (we got SO many bug bites), sunscreen (depending on time of day and where you are you might be in direct sunlight sometimes), cleansing wipes (it can get hot and grimy sitting on the sidewalk), external phone charger, and some form of entertainment (books, cards, etc.). "
Guys, I'm so heartbroken with this whole weekend....I booked a trip from San Antonio a few weeks ago anticipating Lin would be leaving soon and wanting to see the show before the Tony's with OBC....was planning on this whole "cancellation line" shot....and lottery of course....(I won lottery once for In the Heights)....but then Lins departure was announced and the resale ticket prices went up....and THEN I started peeking in this thread....and I hear you fine folks camp out sometimes for days....I only have a weekend in NYC...so needless to say, I'm bummed beyond belief....If anyone is willing to sell me a ticket, it would be greatly appreciated...I'm a generous person...but i refuse to pay $1500 for a rear mezz seat... anyway, just venting...enjoy and good luck to everyone!
So I am officially going back to NYC the week after fathers day (June 20th) and looking for a line buddy again. Message me if interested in partnering up!

And I was told they are given out to other theater non profits for their interns etc. I asked when I was at the show once about how to get them...
Sorry if these types of messages are frowned upon, but I'll be in town for the next two weeks, and was reaching out to people. I work throughout the day, so I can't actually do any of the waiting, but I am looking for someone who is planning on waiting in line (for anytime in the next couple weeks) who would allow me to be their extra seat. I would buy their ticket (and extra swag or compensation) in exchange for their time spent waiting in line. Message me if you're interested. Thanks!
The whole thing makes no sense. I was there last night and what made me so upset is that nobody wants to take responsibility for the line. The folks from the Rodgers obviously hate the idea of the cancellation line. If the line is 'self governed' as many claim, then it is meant to result in fights and unfair doings. I want to see the show but I was unimpressed with the way it was handled.
