Thanks for sharing your line experience and for reposting the line rules others may not b familiar with.  

These rules came into play in May and this thread was in such a buzz, there were about 100 posts about it all in one day!  Maybe somewhere in page 60.  Good times!  LOL!

Hi I have some questions regarding a possible trip for my friends and I to try and see Hamilton via cancellation ticket line next Wednesday (3rd). We're hoping to see the matinee and we live about 6 hours away and could leave Tuesday night to get to NYC either late Tuesday or very early on Wednesday. There are 6 of us all together but we can split into groups of two because I know that that is the max tickets sold per group. We want to see the matinee because we could see the Ham4Ham show and enter the lottery. I was wondering how good are chances are of all of us getting tickets, and what the prices of tickets look like. A lot of my friends don't want to spend more the $200 on tickets. And I know there is standing room only, but how often are those given out and how cheap are they?

I think im going to try on Friday but I've never done a cancellation line before. Can anyone give me some advice? I cannot get there until the afternoon... Would it still be worth going then?

Hi all! Thank you for sharing your experience. It is most appreciated. We are looking to try the line for a 7 PM Monday show. Has anyone had luck getting tickets for a Monday performance? I know it varies from day to day and week to week but what time, roughly, would you suggest getting to the theater? My kids are willing to wait all day if necessary LOL. I have seen posts of people being there before 8 AM, but that seems to be for the matinees. Thank you for your tips!

Yes! I joined in March, the day after my 17 hour no ticket wait.  And ironically, my first post landed on page 17 of this thread!  That's my number!  After that, it was just Linsanity!  Made the aquaintance of nice people here, helped others with advice in getting in and have had a fun 4 months on this thread!

Well... my number 17 was of a matter of repetitiveness so after it was stated, I tried not writing the number.  Then I mocked it for a while... and when I just checked to see where my first post landed, it was on 17.  Which is why I chose irony.   If its being used incorrectly, I appreciate your input.  I know you are a very active member on the board =)

As for your chances, the line has been very calm compared to the frenzy that started around March with Line Sitters at the front spots for 24+ hours claiming the first bunch of tickets and not many to go around.  When Lin was in the show, less tickets went out.  Seem like more are available now.  

Someone recently posted their experience stating they joined the line at 7am and was 11th in line yesterday (Wednesday).  So I'd say get to the line before 7am to get into the 2pm show.   You just need 3 bodies claim spots on line and each body to buy 2 tickets to equal your 6.

Cancellation Line sells:
Premium Tickets $549
Regular Tickets $199
Unclaimed Lottery $199
SRO $40

How often are SRO given?  Not sure.  But seems like not many as actual friends and family of the show prefer to get those cuz why not for $40 bucks over $199.  Two friends I know who had show affiliations went with SRO when their friend asked if they wanted to see the show.  They didn't even wanna spend $199.

I did the cancellation line yesterday and got in! 

I got there at 12:30ish and was 21st in line (this is counting by the amount of tickets wanted not the amount of people). I feel extremely lucky because as the day went on people began getting tired. The weary began to leave and I soon moved up to number 14 :) At around 5:30ish they offered the line 3 premium tickets. The boy in the front of the line took 2 of them and someone at the end of the line took the last one. At 6ish they cut off the line to 18 people. We were all scared that the tickets would be in short supply because Angelica's understudy was going on for the first time last night! Luckily by the time 7:45 came around the tickets started appearing. I believe 4 people got front row seats that were left over from the lottery, and 3 people got standing room. The rest of us got mid orchestra seats for 199. Im guessing that they gave out around 15-16 tickets last night (including the premium and SRs). Also, I was offered my ticket at abut 8:01 and still had time to get to my seat before curtain went up!

Were standing room tickets offered first, or only after regular and premium ones were taken? Was just wondering where in the line I'd have to be to get standing room

Liz and Lexi were stellar!

If you want SRs you have to be near the back of the line. They sell in the order of premium (if there are any takers), then Reg price, and then SRs!

I agree. Normally they sell premium tix throughout the day. Roughly 1-1.5 hours before the show starts, someones unclaimed lottery are sold at regular price. Then between 30 mins before showtime to showtime, regular cancellation (at times unclaimed lottery too) are sold, then last tix sold are standing room (if available.)

If you only want standing room, then pass any premium or regular seat offers to people behind you in the line until standing room is offered to you. I've alwYs seen standing room offered at or after showtime. Hope this helps!

Why would you need to be near the back? You don't have to buy the tickets they offer. You can pass

A friend and I are thinking of doing the cancellation line for tomorrow night's show, and if anyone is interested, we can buy two tickets for someone as well if you'd be willing to pay for half of our own tickets, so it'd be $300 per ticket for you. Feel free to message me! :)

Longtime follower, first-time poster here.  I've found this thread really helpful over the past few months, so I thought I'd share my experience trying to see Hamilton for the first time!

I was determined to see the Saturday matinee at 2:00 pm on July 30.  I had read on here that since Lin left, they tend to give away 15-20 tickets a show.  Just to be safe, I decided to get there at 6:00 am.  I went with a friend who was coming from a different location and who got there about 20 minutes after I did.  I was fourth in line.  The three people in front of me were getting a total of four tickets (everyone in line can buy up to two), making mine ticket number five.  The first people in line arrived around 4:30 am.  We were confident that we and many people behind us would get tickets given the recent posts on here.

Everyone in line had a great time and got to know each other pretty well!  We played mafia for awhile, sang a few songs, mused at the Scientology building across the street, etc.  The eight hours could not have gone by quicker!  People are super nice about letting you leave the line to use the bathroom on the eighth floor of the Marriott or grab some food (I'd highly recommend the pizza place across the street!).

1:00 pm rolled around, and an employee came to shoo away everyone except the first 20 people in line and tell those after 20 to come back at 5:30 pm for the evening cancellation line.  1:30 came, and there were still no tickets!  We were getting quite nervous but were still confident.

At about 1:50, a box office employee took in the first person in line inside, then the next three people.  I don't know whether they got premium, regular, or SRO.  My friend and I were next in line.  Finally at about 2:03, the employee came out and said she has only ONE SRO ticket remaining and said she could offer it to me if I leave my friend, or she could give it to the next person who wanted it in line.  My friend was an absolute saint who told me to take it, so I went in, paid $40, ran to the back of orchestra seating, and the show started!  I was the last person to get in, meaning they had ONLY FIVE CANCELLATION TICKETS for that show.

The people who were behind me in line got there shortly after 6:00 am and had come in from Philadelphia that morning but didn't get tickets.  I'm telling everyone this as a cautionary tale because there's no guarantee of the number of tickets they'll have.

All in all, it was a fabulous experience for me, but I would recommend getting there NO LATER THAN 6:00 AM on two-show days.  The show was obviously phenomenal, even with the OBC gone (the general consensus is that Javier is better than Lin was anyway).  I was quite tired after all that time in line, so I found a little unoccupied wheelchair spot in the middle of SRO where I put a towel down and kneeled for the show.  Those who were standing had a hard time seeing the action on the second tier of the set, and even I on the ground had to bend down to see it because of the mezzanine.  It was also a bit distracting back there because a woman began to go into labor on the stairs and had to be carried out on a stretcher.  But for $40, what more could I ask for?!?
