I plan on waiting in line this coming Sunday (10/30) with my Hamilton obsessed son (Hi Nick...I know you're going to read this!). Thank you all for your insight. Based upon what I've read through this thread I am actually excited to experience the whole process with the culmination of seeing the show with him. If we are shooting for the matinee is 6am a decent time to arrive? Thanks again!!

The past few months that time range has usually been a good time to arrive but it's gotten more crowded in the past two weeks so I'm not sure how it is currently
Huss417 Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I stopped following this thread for a while. My ticket was in the center orchestra and I paid $199. I'm not sure what qualifies as a "Premium Seat" but i can tell you I had an amazing view from my aisle seat in row G.

I decided to wait on the Wednesday evening cancelation line on 8/31 for a single ticket. Here is my experience. BTW this was my first time seeing Hamilton.
-5:34 we are offered 4 premium seats. People in the back of the line take them. I know most people have reported that the usher will send people home after 20th in line; Tonight, everyone was able to wait.
-5:41 to about 6:00: The first several people are pulled inside to purchase lotto and cancelation tickets. I think it was about 4 people, each buying 2. Now there are about 7 people in front of me.
-7:57. MY TURN! I rush inside and give them my credit card. I'm shaking like a leaf as I beg the usher to tell me where I'm sitting. Row G seat 101. Amazing view
" @countabby
Reading your post I was curious about a couple of things. You mention people farther back in the line took the first premium tickets offered. When you got your ticket for Row G 101 was that for Orch or Mezz and how much was the ticket?
If anyone does the line today would appreciate feedback on how many people were in the line / how early / tickets released etc. I did it back in August and was lucky enough to watch the show. Planning another trip shortly and was just curious about the line situation on Saturdays.

That has been happening to me for months now. I see there is a new post but if its the beginning of a new page when I click on it it does not appear. Good to know this trick MFB. :)
Yessss! I needed to do this on several other threads. In this case, after I bumped, I edited my post to reflect a response to the last post. But bumping to the next page helps to catch that pesky hidden post! Bump away!

Just hit reply to message and you'll be able to see that mysterious last message that never shows up.
I'm not sure if I'm doing this right because I couldn't figure out where to make a post, except for hitting reply to another user's post. I am taking a bus to the city from where I live on November 4th, which should arrive at 11:30am. Will I be way too late to have a chance in the cancellation line if I can't get there until then for the 8pm show? I was going to just suck it up and pay full resale price for a ticket, but I can't afford $1,800 tickets for an orchestra seat. I've been trying to see if forever, and as a poor almost 22 year old (birthday is Nov. 6th), with student loans I can't justify paying more than like $900. It would just be me going by myself and it is probably my one chance to see it, as I pretty much never have time off from work, between my 2 jobs...does anyone think I'd be able to get a ticket? There is no way for me to get there earlier, as the earliest bus that day arrives at 11:30am, and I can't travel the night before because I work until 10 pm...
^^ It is really hard to say. There doesn't seem to be a pattern about ticket availability for the cancellation line. When I was there two weeks ago on a Tuesday, I was 8th in line at 11am and at least 15 of us got in. The 15th person probably didn't get there until mid afternoon. Just do your best to get there early and good luck.
empeele, on a friday, and with how things have been going, 11:30 might be a little late to get there. Only 2 people got tix (4 total tix) last friday and there were about 10 people in line by 11:30. But this could have been a rare day of very few tickets available. The day before, Thursday, only about 5 people in line by that time, and 8 total tix (4 people) got in that Thursday night. So again, 11:30 was too late. Was told that last Wednesday (the day before I was there), at least 12 got in. If you could get an earlier bus you'd have a better shot. And join the online lottery also, cause hey, you never know....
Even if 1130 arrival may not get you a seat, you can watch on Stubhub for a single ticket. I'm sure you can get one much lower than $900! You just have to factor in the amount of time to print out your ticket from the StubHub center and get back to the theater for the show (I wouldn't cut it any shorter than 30 min before curtain, and even that may be too close).
FYI, if $900 is really your budget, you can use a professional line sitting service and pretty much be assured that they will get there first. And even that wouldn't run you $900.
You might be okay with the 11:30 arrival since your budget is high. I was there a few weeks ago on a Saturday and they offered at least six premium tickets ($529) which most people pass on. So that day they went to the 15th person and her friend, the 20th +1 and the 22nd person in line (and he definitely got there later, probably lunch time) All the earlier line positions passed, hoping for the $200 or $40 seats closer to show time. So I would definitely give it a shot! Good luck!
I was line sitting for someone who went there at 5 AM (2nd place in line) and I took over for him at 6:30 AM for the rest of the day. The first person came at 2 AM, the guy I line sat for at 5 AM, a girl with her mom a bit after 5 AM, a guy buying tickets for his girlfriends birthday at around 5:30 AM, a family buying 6 tickets after 6:30 AM, and so on. By the time they gave out tickets there were 20-25 people in the line, I expected there to be more because of the documentary + some OBC leaving but I guess the cold balanced it out.
They gave out 4 SRO tickets at 10 AM (sometimes they don't even have any and if they do they give it at the end not when the box office opens so this was surprising) and I grabbed one, you can't beat $40 to see Hamilton imo.
This was my second time seeing the show and it was just as amazing as the first time, the cast differences between my first and second time watching it were Michael Luwoye ---> Javier Munoz for Hamilton, Elizabeth Judd ----> Lexi Lawson for Eliza, Oak ----> Andrew Chapelle for Mulligan, and a few ensemble changes. Michael was definitely better than Javier and even Lin (I saw him on a bootleg) but Lin was better than Javier, Elizabeth and Lexi were about the same and I loved both their performances, and Oak was better than Andrew although Andrew's performance had more energy in it.
If you guys have any questions about the line or if you need a line sitter on the weekend let me know :)
I'll be in the city for one day on Wednesday, November 30. My plane lands in Laguardia at 8:00am so I'll do my best to get to the Richard Rogers by 10:00am. I'd be willing to wait all day. I have a budget of $200 and would pay the $40 for the SRO tickets. What are the chances that I would get tickets to that night's performance? If there is at least a decent chance, would that mean I would have to stay until a half hour until the performance?
Wednesday the 30th appears to be a one show day as opposed to two. As per the calendar on ticketmaster there will only be an 8pm show that day. To be honest like the others have said its hard to predict any pattern when it comes to how many seats will be released to the line any given day. 10 am seems like a good time to line up for an 8 pm show. Should give you a decent shot. Tickets are released right until the last moment ( I got mine at 1:58pm for the 2:00pm show on a Sat so you have to hang in there. Good Luck!
Hi everyone! My friend and I are planning to wait in the cancellation line for tickets for the Sunday 11/13 3pm show, which is Chris Jackson's last show. We're thinking of just waiting for SRO tickets since we don't really have the budget for the $200 tickets, but if anyone is interested, we'd be happy to purchase 2 tickets each and secure a pair for someone else, as long as you're willing to help us pay for our tickets also. PM me if you are interested! :)
I'm line sitting again this Saturday so I'll let you all know how it goes!
Also if anyone else is looking for a line sitter I'm free most weekends and next Thursday and Friday as well, just pm me. I'd be happy to work something out :)
I've seen a lot of recent posts on Fri-Sun, but nothing recent for mid-week. I'll be there next week and wondering how early I have to be there to be first in line. =)
If anyone has any updates on this weekend's line, please let us know! I did the line on Wednesday and they only gave out five tickets. +5 standing room tickets. I know that next weekend is going to be crazy with Anthony and Christopher leaving, but would still love to know what it was like this Saturday and Sunday if anybody has any information in a few days. :) thanks in advance!

I thought Jackson leaves the 13th and then Ramos leaves the following weekend on the 20th?
